Mexican Workers and the American Dream: Immigration, Repatriation, and California Farm Labor, 1900-1939 (Class and Culture)

Great Read on the Expulsion of Individuals of Mexican Descent During the Depression
Excellent read. The book provides very good insight into the American expulsion efforts of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans during the 1930s Depression Era. White-Anglo Americans viewed those of Hispanic heritage as less than full citizens and, therefore, not welcomed. Those of Mexican descent only asked for, and were willing to work for, the same dream of other Americans. It's sad that similar attitudes still exist within the Trump administration today and his followers, not only toward Hispanics but other ethnic groups.

Historical read
This book goes into much of the history of California and Mexican immigration starting from the time of legal migration on daily to annual basis. Very interesting but also gives real light to the embarrassment of how hard-working Mexicans were treated after they were no longer wanted during the Great Depression by the United States government and border patrol.
