Many of the reviews here are bad from people who do not understand how to install this.If you need to drill a hole, just use a stepped drill bit available anywhere, it needs a 3/4" round hole. Then there is a small nub on the cable that you need to file a small area as seen in my photos which will orient the position of the USB port.I installed on my F150 and replaced the factory "line in" port on top of the dash.Looks OEM.

I used this panel mount for a project to install a USB outlet in my overhead console to power my dash cam. I was tired of having the cord hang down. I also bought an adapter to connect this to existing power lines in the headliner - I think they were for the compass.I had a stepped drill bit to drill the panel in a spot near the windshield with enough clearance behind the panel to accommodate the depth of this outlet. The only struggle I had was that I had to cut tiny slots in the sides of the hole to allow the ears on the side of the outlet to slide in.After all that, I connected a 1-ft USB cord to my dash cam and plugged it in. It all works great and looks clean. I'd buy this again for this project. If I could change anything, I'd ask for a shorter cord and I'd love to have one of these in tan to match the headliner. The black stands out, but otherwise it's a clean install.

This is a addition to a new car stereo if you want that flush dealer looking install. I used a 11/16 Drill Bit and it was a fairly smooth install. Took a little finesse to add the notch so it would like up but looks great after the install. I will try to upload a picture at some point.

Use a 3/4 inch drill bit to install into a location firmly. Looks like original equipment when it's finished.Can't be any simpler, for the money Great buy.... I recommend it.

Used this to add a USB in the glove compartment. A 3/4” bit makes a perfect Le for it. Fits tight and looks clean.

Just a hair too small for the standard opening in a GM vehicle. A few wraps of electric tape was enough to make sure it fits securely but the tabs really could be better. Otherwise works just fine, nice gauge cable.

This product did not fit like in the did in the add. I had to modify the lighter unit to even get this far, then I had to glue it in place, not good, not happy

It was easy to install into a blank stop on console. Use 3/4 step bit to create perfect hole and a mini file to create a key to keep it b straight. Works great for android auto and Apple car play while charging via headunit.
