The Best Small Faces SINGLES Compilation
If you are a Small Faces fan that loves the original music from their Immediate years then this compilation is essential. Especially if you originally listened to them on 45. This is a SINGLES collection & to be authentic that means MONO. And quite frankly, thats how these particular tracks should be listened to. The stereo versions of some of these tracks are on other reissues so if Mono is not your thing look elsewhere. Or if you are real fan like me you will need the Mono & the Stereo versions. The remastering on this collection is excepional with even more 'punch' than the original 45's. Add in the fact that exceptional tracks like The Universal & Donkey Rides A Penny A Glass are not readily available on other vinyl reissues you cant miss getting this on vinyl. I did miss it when it was originally released in 2014 & had to wait for this reissue. Thanks to Amazon it arrived when promised, & properly packaged for its long journey to New Zealand. I have just listened to it through & the Sound Quality is the best I have heard for these tracks. And of course there are no bad tracks..

This is a landmark year for Small Faces fans. These recordings have never sounded better. The 180 gram blue vinyl is mastered beautifully on quiet flat surface. It's a limited edition so get it now before it skyrockets in price. Then don't be afraid to get the big box set too!! It doesn;t get any better than this!

Good Collection
Great collection of this forgotten rock group from a very hard to find box set. I highly recommend this for any new Small Faces fan. Wish the box set was more easily available.

Indimenticabili Small Faces e Steve Mariott
Small Faces uno dei gruppi beat migliori dello scenario musicale mondiale della seconda metà degli anni ‘60. I giovani musicisti britannici stupiscono ancora oggi , ascoltando le hits contenute in questo ottimo vinile , per l’originalità dei brani e per la ricerca sonora, spaziando dal rock al rithm and blues e per la bravura compositiva e di esecuzione . Steve Mariott talentuoso frontman e lead vocal nonché chitarrista polistrumentista, è stato poi uno dei fondatori di un’ altra ottima e celebre band attiva negli anni 70, gli Humble Pie, una volta terminata l’esperienza con gli Small Faces . Purtroppo a soli 44 anni ci ha lasciato, coinvolto in un drammatico incendio che ha distrutto la sua casa nell’Essex . Questo vinile resta una testimonianza della validità dei numerosi giovani musicisti attivi nel Regno Unito , contemporanei dei Beatles e degli Stones e che fecero dell’Inghilterra la nazione richiamo di molti giovani europei. Il “sogno britannico “ ed il sound d’Oltremanica fu anche il connotato di molte band italiane, allora denominate “ complessi beat “ degli anni ‘60 , che inserivano nel loro repertorio spesso cover di gruppi britannici , con opportuni testi In lingua italiana. Ascoltare questa musica oggi , stupisce ancora per la sua freschezza e originalità.
