The Boston Globe Sunday Crossword Puzzles, Volume 14 Spiral-bound – March 8, 2005

These puzzles are printed on paper that really stands up to multiple erasures. I like that the answers are not printed consecutively, so that the solver doesn't get an inadvertent glance at the next puzzles answers. I also like the facts about some of the clues/answers that are included beneath each puzzle's solution. However — Too many of these puzzles really show their age… Even though they were originally published in the 21st Century, enough clues are very much only of their time, and after only 10 or 15 years, they are very dated, and not amusing. Still, it's a pretty good — just not great — collection of moderately challenging puzzles.

Unfortunately I didn't realize this was only 50 puzzles, my mistake, it's clearly printed on the cover and in the description. I rushed through and bought this after purchasing other crossword books that contained 200 puzzles. I would have to say now that I think it's a little pricey compared to others, perhaps because it is spiral bound, which is nice. I got it to gift to someone so I am unable to comment as to the difficulty or quality of the puzzles. However, I have always enjoyed Boston Globe puzzles.

The puzzles are great. Hard but solvable. They are interesting and clever and I really enjoyed working them. HOWEVER the paper they are printed on is very poor quality. It is barely better than newspaper paper. Although I really like the puzzles, I will not buy any more of these puzzle books.

Remember, my ratings are based on my skills, e.g. I am a general, non-fiction reader, and was once a proofreader. These puzzles take me 30-40 minutes, but there are always some clues that stump me. I judge that it wouldn't greatly challenge someone who's been doing puzzles for a few years, but still a little difficult for newbies.

Good choice of dependable merchandise at a reasonable price.

you definitely have tto be born in the 1950s, all the clues are so dated and if you weren't from Boston forgetabautit but it is fun if you have a bunch of useless trivia and know how to play their games which are always great themes

I do these puzzles with my sister. They are challenging, but not overwhelming.

An excellent collection and the binding allows it to lay flat on my clipboard.

For the price I paid for it and the amount of crosswords this book had, I am not pleased! Also, some of the questions or clues leave a lot to be desired. You'd think that for this price there would be more in them.I won't buy this one again any time soon - SORRY! :(
