40400 1800-Watt Power Kit with 40-Watt Solar Panel

It tested fine. We bought it for emergency power in earthquake country. In 1994, after the Northridge quake, we had no power for 38 hours. This time we will be able to recharge batteries during the day & have adequate light at night. We are saving up to buy additional panels & battery.

Not what I expected

Decent but needs a bigger panel and battery pack..

I had high hopes for this, very disappointed. I have tested it on several appliances, will not run the washing machine, or anything that requires heat. We have a small chest freezer it might run it for an hour or so before needing to recharge. Takes 24 to 48 hours to get a full charge and the inverter fan is quite annoying during this process! If you want to use the solar panel it would take 6 days to get a full charge. I have hooked up the solar panel after charging to full with electricity and run two CFL 40 watt bulges for a few hours in the evening and it runs the battery down to 40 percent. That is with just one lamp! It does recharge to full after the solar panel is in full sun for 6 hours, but as far as the price and the results this is waaaay overpriced!!! We have a Duracell 600 watt battery pack that works better than this for using the same test as mentioned above and it will run the light fir several days without a recharge. Amazon was very helpful in the refund. Keep looking for another product if you want more reliable power.

I got two of them but one quit working so now I don't know where to get it fixed. Can you help me on this matter?

I found one way cheaper that is rated a bit better. This one is fine. They are great if you need short term power backup. I want something buigger but dont have a house. So this one is transportable to rentals. It is expandible and that is what I will end up doing to make it what I want.
