I have baby fine hair and love smaller sticks that don't look over whelming. These are smooth and require good technique, but on days when I'm all thumbs I just put a ponytail band halfway up while I am twisting. Once it is tucked in, it gives the stick a surface to grab against. Call it a cheat or a hack, but at 3:45am I just call it getting ready for work. I get compliments on these frequently.
