Tony is the king, what more can I say.Best way to learn sick bluegrass licks.Some may balk at the price, and the book itself is tiny compared to other instructional guitar materials but this is the real deal, you'll be a flatpickin' monster if you learn from Tony.

This is a useful aid for anyone studying bluegrass guitar. Tony is certainly one of the leading bluegrass guitarists and has been for many years, so this provides some insight into his style. It would be nice to have a more in-depth look, but you take what you can get!

Bought for my dad and he really liked the video. Big Tony Rice fan. He wanted some pointers to improve his style on the guitar.

Where to begin? Ok, don't expect to pick this book up and immediately learn to sound like Rice. He's not normal. And the CD included in this book will pretty much clue you in on that. The man can flat burn like very few ever could and the rest of us will be lucky to get anywhere near that.The songs are written exactly as he played them, not watered down, and this can be quite challenging. It also gives you tons of insight into the little tricks he throws out there that gives him that distinctive sound. You just have to bite it off in little bits and chew thoroughly.
