After reading Django For Beginners i thought i should build some more projects so i purchased this.. but what i got was a headache.. Poorly written, Codes different in Github repo, etc etc.. Full of errors.. Go for Django 2 by Example or maybe some other.. this one is a total waste and utterly disappointing..

I have done the first chapter and although good I came already across a mistake.In the pagination part of the listview you need to change the class in the listview to:from core.models import Movieclass MovieList(ListView): model = Movie paginate_by = 10On the Packt> website, there is no source code or an errata, which is not good either. Will write here further when I have done some other chapters

An excellent book that does howver require you to have some basic django knowledge.

Disappointing. The book has some great/interesting sounding projects, which I'm sure could be useful for experienced coders when trying to tie into your own personal projects. However this book its riddled with errors: spelling mistakes, undocumented file paths, poorly explained concepts, etc. It starts off great in the first few chapters and then very noticeably falls apart in quality thereafter. By Chapter 4 I gave-up as I couldn't bother trying to figure out what the author 'intended' to show/teach at that point.

I had high hopes for this book, but it lacks context on almost every section; has missing code blocks; project files do NOT include the Django app template files; doesn't explain most concepts; errors; areas in the source files that don't match the text in the book.All in all, this is being marketed as a beginner's guide into Django web development which is false. Tech. books that are successful act as an aggregate of many resources coupled together to provide guidance to the reader - when the reader has to spend the majority of their time outside the book, as is the case in this book, then the book provides very little value to the reader.
