Round Wooden Silent Desk Alarm Clock with Nightlight

I just needed a simple clock since I was tired of digital clocks and didn't want to get out my cellphone each time to quickly look at the time. I also like that the casing is made of natural wood (didn't want too much metal in my bedroom where this is placed). This one also fit the bill for something that's light and easy to travel with. Only minus is that it's not glow in the dark but you just need to press the button for a small bulb (at 11 O'clock position) to lighten up the clock-face to see the time. Runs on regular AA batteries and it's been a few years or more where I haven't had the need to replace them yet.

This is a great little clock. I have had one for over five years and decided to get another one. This time the seller used counterfeit postage, so there was an additional six dollars to pay when it was delivered by the US Postal Service.

We have 4 of these clocks, purchased over the course of 2 years, so we definitely like them.I have 4 basic requirements for an alarm clock for the home:- silent (no ticking)- easy to read (don't need to put on glasses)- no light until you need it (clocks with bright dials or numbers keep me awake)- alarm is easy to set and to stop and wakes me upThis clock does all those things and looks nice to boot, which no LED electronic clock has ever done.The quality of the manufacturing is not very good. One of the 4 didn't work out of the box, but it's a pretty simple thing and we were able to take it apart and fix it. They have all worked well since then. We ordered the last 2 after that experience, so it didn't dissuade us. They're pretty cheap, so it's perhaps not that surprising.

This is a great unobtrusive, little clock for my nightstand. It keeps accurate time, no ticking or humming noises, doesn't take up too much room, and the modern wood design will blend with any decor but it's not so modern as to be "cold". The alarm is loud enough to wake me up & I really like that it doesn't glow all night like a digital.There are only 2 (very) minor flaws imho....1. the 'rolley poley' design tends to literally roll over when someone's sleepy paw swats or touches it at night. There are little rubber feet-like stabilizers on the bottom to prevent that rollover tendency but they need to be a little bigger I think. Nothing that my handy little hot glue gun can't correct by adding a couple of extra 'feet' to the bottom. 2. The night viewing button feature on top is very handy but the light itself is just a little too bright or maybe just awkwardly placed. I was expecting more of a soft glow from the dial being lit from behind but the light is actually along the rim at the 11 o'clock position & washes across the dial so you can see the time just fine but it can be a little too bright on tired, sleepy (or hung-over) eyes in total darkness. That light might be less intrusive if it were at the 6 o'clock spot & pointed more upwards across the dial. But, again, that's not really an issue since it only comes on if the button on top of the clock is depressed. All in all, I like this clock alot, I would recommend it to anyone, or buy it again without hesitation.

The alarm would start ringing on its own, and when the 'stop' button is pushed, it would stop but only to start again after a few minutes. A designing defect seems to be that the 'seconds' hand and the 'alarm' hand of the clock somehow got mixed up. Eventually, the clock's battery had to be pulled out to stop the clock from making annoying noise. But this meant that the clock would not run. We had to stop using the clock. What a waste!

I started by giving this clock 3.5 stars, but on further consideration needed to bring it up to 5. Although I have never used it as an alarm clock, it has never failed me as a clock short of my own abuse to it. I am a mental health clinician and carry it with me between sessions. My favorite thing about this clock is that it is truly silent, and therefore not disruptive. It is also light and looks very nice, as it is made of real wood and glass. My issue is probably unique, since I doubt most people carry this clock around all day - it doesn't hold up well to being dropped, which tends to happen about once a month. Without fail the battery cover will fall off (sometimes without actually being dropped), so I keep that taped on. Eventually a fall will be severe enough that either the clock mechanism will break or the hands will get out of whack. This happened yesterday, and I showed up at a meeting one hour early!That said, this is sold as a DESK clock, which implies that it is not designed to be carted around everywhere. If I were to treat it as a desk clock, I highly doubt that it would take suicidal leaps to the floor of its own accord. And I like it so much that I have murdered 2 and am purchasing my third one in 2 years today.

I do like this clock, much nicer than having the usual plastic alarm clock. It's silent and the nighlight/snooze button is great for checking time in the dark or giving yourself a couple minutes to decide.. YEP, it's time to wake up. I would advise looking around the internet, I found the very same product/manufactured and packaged just as this was and bought 2 for this price on another site. Oddly, I had two friends that liked this simple product that much. Keeps great time and the alarm starts out low and increases in volume unlike most just blaring when it hits alarm time. Very nice little product. But do look around; they can be had for half the price in a few clicks.
