Great capacity
Relatively easy assembly. Based on storage capacity, felt it was a good option and fair price. It is just basic pressboard, but looks nice, and wasn't overpriced. This was a second unit of the same model, just in a different color. As stated in some of the other reviews, the packaging is not great for the weight of the items (comes in 2 boxes) being shipped. This unit was damaged during shipping - looked like it had been dropped which resulted in 7 of the 8 supports having various damage. However the seller gave a partial refund and most of the damage was in spots not easily visible when assembled. Would not say the damage was the seller's fault, so they should not be "dinged" with any negative, but do be aware that the packaging could definitely be better for a fairly heavy object.

this one has a better turntable that turns smoothly even under weight and thicker
Compared to the Prepac spinning towers (I also own one of those), this one has a better turntable that turns smoothly even under weight and thicker, sturdier shelves with a much better system of shelf supports. The company used to make higher capacity towers as well (such as a CD-1480CHY I own), but apparently no longer does, a shame. The assembly isn't too bad, but does require two people. Like any furniture requiring assembly, there's a possibility of damaged corners during transit.

Poor packaging for a mediocre product.
This unit arrived damaged due to very poor packaging! Item arrived in two boxes and product was damaged in each box; since the item is made in Indonesia one would believe that the packaging would at least be designed to handle the many hands and machinery it's sure to encounter....it is not! Extremely thin cardboard encased the product with a few thin pieces of Styrofoam placed on each end and only ONE side of the box; no additional shipping material was placed anywhere else in the boxes which leaves way too much of the product vulnerable to damage!Assembly was OK in that any person with assembly experience of "flat-pack products" should be able to decipher the picture process instructions; labeling of each product piece was non existent so one has to really look over the pieces to make sure they correspond with the instruction assembly; it isn't hard, but if someone doesn't understand how to assemble this type of flat-pack stuff they will most likely have some trouble. I assembled the piece by myself in about an hour after fixing the damaged pieces the best that I could; I didn't want to wait for replacement pieces. The metal rotating devise on the bottom piece is pre-fixed as stated, and it seems to work well enough for now; the only issue I had with assembling the thing to the unit was that the pre-drilled pilot holes in the bottom piece did not match up to the rotating devise; I marked and drilled my own.I bought this unit to store my DVD/Blu-Ray collection. Starting from the bottom, I used six shelves in each of the four spots. I can put anywhere from 17 to 20 DVD/Blu-Ray movies on each shelf. I do like that each shelf is not recessed like some other brands; no issue with having a DVD/Blu-Ray caught behind one of the panels. The overall quality of the product was less than I expected from other's reviews in that the press-board materials are very thin and easily damaged. I do like the METAL pins used to hold the shelves VS plastic pins in other similar products; one of the deciding reasons I bought the Leslie Dame product over others.

Works great for storing manga!
I have a large collection of manga, which comes in extremely standardized sizing, and I was hoping I'd be able to use a revolving media tower to store them more efficiently than a regular bookshelf (which has to accommodate books of a bunch of different sizes). This worked out perfectly for the most common size of manga volume, which is about the size of a DVD, and less perfectly for the slightly oversized ones that you get from Kodansha, Vertical, June, etc., because the holes for the shelves don't run at even intervals all the way down -- they're only where the manufacturer estimated you'd need a shelf for DVDs or CDs. But it mostly worked out fine with just some wasted space because even an oversize manga isn't as tall as two CDs put together. The boxes are VERY heavy and assembly was somewhat difficult but still doable for me, a single person without any experience building flat-pack furniture. I was careful to put the tower in a corner so that the weight wouldn't cause problems for my floor. Overall I'm very happy with my new manga bookshelf! I think it would work very well if you had a large collection of mass market paperbacks as well, so romance and scifi superfans might want to look into similar options.

Great looking but poor design
This is a handsome unit for my 1000-CD collection, however the turntable failed almost immediately after just a few turns. Why a turntable made of plastic would ever be considered for a unit of this size and heft (with 1000 CDs loaded to it). I've ordered a metal replacement turntable (of 1000lbs capacity ... I'm taking no chances with a lower rating) and will now have to remove every CD to place the unit on its side for this repair. How much more would a metal equivalent have cost to make this a quality stand?Update: I have since replaced the plastic turntable with a metal equivalent (designed for a Lazy Susan) and the unit is working well. I only wish it had come with this in the first place.

it's completely unnecessary. It's a chipboard unit
The unit I received came with a steel lazy susan bearing already mounted to the base. No plastic. Don't order the suggested lazy susan; it's completely unnecessary. It's a chipboard unit, but reasonably well made. The pins that hold the shelves are steel, with nonslip rubber covers so the shelves shouldn't fly off if you spin the rack too rapidly. There is no lip that hides the last disk at one end, unlike some competing units.I was able to assemble and position the unit solo, but it's heavy: over 100 lbs (45 kg). It's not going to be a family heirloom, but it's well designed, and a good value.
