Great ferret book! I own three ferrets and purchased this on a whim from amazon.com. I like the amount of info; it is a great book for first time ferret owners and experienced ferret owners will enjoy it too! It is packed full of detailed husbandry material but is easily read. I learned a LOT and my mom enjoyed it too(she's not too crazy about my ferts). I love Baron's Pet Library books and own the ferret book and dwarf hamster book too!

We are new owners of two young ferrets' that we rescued.

This book provides the reader a great overview of ferret care, health, diet, and many other topics such as the food they eat and the type of cages they should have. The only thing I did not like about the book is on page 31 quoting, "If your ferret plays too roughlt, a sound thump on the nose with your forefinger, accompanied by a sharp "No", will soon advise your ferret that this is not acceptable behavior". I have to disagree! Out of all ferret reading I have done, books, magazines, and Internet researching, I always read that nose thumping is not appropriate to teach a ferret of his/her errors. This is only book that suggests that it is okay. Otherwise all the other topics are great and make sense. Despite the disagreement, I give 4 stars for great overall well rounded book.

Great info for anyone considering a ferret as a pet

when i recieved this book it wasent in that good condition. there was a goodwill sticker on it that said $1.00. not very happy about that. but this book has very useful information!

This book is really great!! I have Ferrets for dummies 2, The Ferret hand book and Ferrets (a complete Pet Owners Manual. All books were like NEW couldn't tell they were used books THANKS !!!

Sin embargo se recomienda por ser informativo.Consideró este libro como para algún miembro de la familia, que no sea el dueño directo del huron por tener pocas páginas y no explicar en mas detalle su cuidado. También quedaría muy bien para un niño debido a la cantidad de ilustraciones que tiene el libro y la poca cantidad de paginas.Para un dueño de huron usar este libro como complemento, debido a que se requiere mas conocimiento en su cuidado y alimentación.Como punto negativo del libro y comentario, nunca le des frutas, dulces o vegetales a tu hurón, ni lo uses como premio ni por muy mínima que sea recuerda que es 100% carnívoro.
