The first was a high end one that never softened up and kept me too hot at night. The first thing I noticed about this one was how soft it was right out of the package! It's super light weight! I won't be over heating in this one! I will offer the advice of looking in to pinion pins for duvets. There are a variety of styles to choose from. I chose the iron on metal snaps that go inside the duvet to hold the comforter in place.
