I usually wait until I’ve used an item a lot longer before I review, but it’s no longer working so I’ll go ahead now:1) it has good vacuum pressure. But that is the only pro2) you have to seal the unit closed yourself by closing the flap on each side with these spring loaded locks. It’s not easy to do especially with slippery hands3) It’s really hard to open the flap that contains the roll of bags. There’s no handle4) the blade for cutting the roll is very flimsy. You basically have to force it open to cut a bag every time and I’m expecting this to break any minute5) I have wrapped and sealed an entire hog with this unit so I feel pretty experienced with it. This happened a few times at first but now it’s a constant occurrence and the main reason I am pitching it and getting a new kind: after the air has been vacuumed and it’s time for the unit to seal,It never does. It just keeps sucking but the seal never happens. Which means I have to cancel the vacuum and then start a manual seal. But By the time it takes for this to happen, precious vacuum is lost. 90% of my food has air in the package because of this.Of course, this began happening a lot after the return period expired so I’m stuck with it.I decided on taking a risk of an off brand with few reviews but it was a mistake. Learn from me. ### ⭐⭐ Worked great at first *by M***N on Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2020* This is my fourth vacuum sealer in 20 years. Owned a Foodsaver, seal-a-Meal and nesco. This is perhaps the best unit of the 4.Pros:* Strong suction. On high this thing evacuates air so far I thought at first it wasn't pulling enough air out of canisters but it was. Easily the most powerful suction of any unit I've owned.* High/Low speeds. Low is similar to my previous three vacuum sealer. High is insanely fast and effective.* Double heat seal. Extra security against seal leaks.* Wide heat seal. Heat bar is just over 12.5 inches wide.* Standard size Foodsaver compatible accessory port on right side* Onboard roll storage and cutter.* Compact size.* Nice, solid heft to unit. Feels well built.* Stainless steel.* Pulse vac. Nice to have this feature. First unit I've owned with this feature.Cons:* Speed and Food LEDs are always lit. To be safe, I unplug unit after each use to ensure unit is not actually 'on'.* Hard to close cover. However, after two weeks use I've gotten used to it. Close left then right. Much easier to snap closed one side then the other.I haven't used the Dry/Moist function. I freeze meats prior to vacuum sealing so like won't test this feature.The low ratings of some reviews do concern me with unit longevity, but surprise me given the units solid feel and build quality. I hope it lasts.Excellent unit. Unbelievable price point.** EDIT 11/26/21Lowered my rating from 4 to 2 stars.Unit suction no longer as strong. Motor sounds weaker and is dying.Sealed bags lose vacuum after a few days. I think the heat sealing bar is dying too.The lid is really difficult to both close and release after sealing.
