Excellent! Super easy to use and a great price too
Having recently had to buy a new laptop I found most do not come with a built in CD drive anymore, so I needed to get an external one for playing CD's DVDs and also buringing/ripping my own CDs, and I saw this one on offer. I haven't used this brand before so I wasn't sure what to expect, but honestly I'm really impressed! The item itself is small, slim and lightweight but pretty surdy, and the connecting cable that is attached tucks neatly away underneath when you are not using it, so it;s easy to take with you and doesn't take up much room. I keep mine in my laptop bag. It doesn't say so on the box but it works perfectly with Windows 11 too. You literally plug it in via USB cable (there is an extra cable so you can use both types of USB port) and it starts to work right away (the correct screen comes on for what you are using it for). I've tested it out playing my discs but also burning and ripping CDs and it's super easy to use, it does the job quickly, records and plays perfectly and the sound quality is excellent. I'm not great with tech usually to be fair but using this was no problem for me. I would definitely buy again and happily recommend if you are looking for a no fuss great quality external CD drive.

Fast, reliable, well built
I regularly buy CDs and then rip them to FLAC format, but my old CD player was very slow since I migrated to Linux Mint. I bought this CD player to see if there was a difference. I'm glad to say that there is an enormous positive difference. I ripped the same CD using both my old CD player and this Rioddas model, and to ensure it was a fair test, they were both plugged into the same USB port. When I finished the test with one, I swapped the drives and then rebooted the computer to ensure there were no residual incompatible drivers lingering. The old CD player took 15 minutes to rip the whole CD. The Rioddas took 7 minutes, which is a significant difference. There were no errors during the reading process (the software I use reports all errors). The old player managed to get up to 3.5 times nominal read speed, whilst the Rioddas got up to 8.5 times, again, significantly faster. When I get a box-set of CDs, it will no longer be an all-day task to rip them. The drive looks and feels like a quality machine, and the eject works properly through software as well as the button. The simple USB-A connector enables connectivity to almost every computer, and it is light enough to put in a backpack so you can use it down at the local coffee house or library. Not tested: 1. DVD reading 2. CD and DVD writing With the above two caveats, I would recommend this drive.

A good value for money CD/DVD drive solution
Bought this with the main purpose of being able to rip my audio CDs to mp3 so I can listen on my phone. Device was very easy to get working; a short (approx 10cm), hard-wired USB 3.0 cable provides enough power for the unit to run and after a few seconds it showed up as expected in Windows 11. There is an option to connect a Micro USB cable to supply additional power should you only have USB 2.0 options. At the time of writing, I haven't run any speed tests on it or tried writing to a DVD/CD, but it took approx 10min to rip a 50min audio CD. For the price, I'm happy with it's performance & it's nice and compact so can easily stashed away when not in use. Only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is that the tray itself does feel slightly fragile but I don't think this will be an issue unless you're heavy-handed.

Useability.
Excellent kit, does exactly what I wanted it to. Added ripping to Mac Mini. Delivered on time, and very good price.

Works exactly as it should. Beware the short USB cable.
Bought this as I am going back to an iPod in order to disconnect my music from the internet and all that jazz. Arrived quickly and does the job that I want it to do, its recognised by windows immediately with no driver installs required and I was able to rip a CD to my computer with no issues. The only downside to it is that the USB cable is really short, as noted in several reviews so unless you're just plonking it on top of your PC tower (like I am) or connecting it to a laptop, you'll need an extension for your USB cable. Noise is about standard for a CD/DVD drive, it makes a reasonable level of noise while reading/ burning disks but otherwise is inaudible when not in operation. Its very small and compact (just a bit bigger than a standard CD case) and as such can be tucked away when not in use. The disk tray is a little bit flimsy feeling, but so long as you support it when putting a disk in I can't see any issues arising.

I wouldn't touch the brand again
Fast delivery from Amazon, next day, unfortunately after the day of arrival it was on it's way back to Amazon. I first had problems with the pc recognising the drive. It seemed to have enough power, but added the extra anyway. Then came the problem of it either playing a disc or even writing one. It did neither. The pc showed that a disc was in the drive and yet when you tried to play or write you had the problem come up the drive wasn't ready or no disc in the drive The pc even picked up on the film in the drive and yet it still insisted no disc in the drive. I spent a good few hours trying to sort out the problem which left me with one thought that it had to be the external drive, maybe the laser not working? I thought these were supposed to be checked before hand, seeming not quite the truth.

exactly what it says on the tin
works as advertised, plays cds and ports them to computer, so what more could you ask for. the cable is a bit short but works well enough with my set up, and it ripps cds just fine which is mainly what i wanted it for. great bit of kit for the price, it is a bit loud but what cd player isn't. with good headphones its fine. i don't yet know how durable it is, as the actually casement is a bit flimsy when it shoots out, but with care it should last a long time.

Ok
Itโs ok. It works for but it does occasionally turn itself off (maybe when the lead/usb is moved) and it can be slow at ejecting but it has done what I needed it to which was transferring cds to my Apple Music library
