I was so excited to purchase this for my two cats. I was very disappointed that it was made from regular cardboard that can bend easily and become destroyed in a short period of time. I assumed that the cardboard would be more like a hard chipboard, especially since the second story would have to be strong enough to hold a regular size cat. The entrance space for the second story was smaller than expected and my eight pound cat (who is very small framed) did not want to get inside it. The inside of the second story however, was spacious enough for her to relax, but the entrance way made it difficult for her to be comfortable enough to get into it.I ended up taking colorful duck tape to hold the sides in place and continued on to make a design all around the outside with the duck tape. Both of my cats like the bottom floor and will lay on the scratching pad, but have no interest in second floor.

It's cardboard, goes together in just a few minutes and our two cats fight over who will be on top. I will buy this again but if you have heavier cats (10lbs+), I would recommend gluing the panels together vs relying on the tabs to hold it. We used hot glue to repair ours after learning this. Overall, a good cat house that is cheap enough to throw out after five or six months of use.

My furry roomie adores his new house, and loves being part of the family from a new height. Depending on his mood, he's hanging on the bottom, inside the middle, or chilling on the roof.

The bottom board that secures the base of the house together and holds the bottom scratcher was missing. Attempted to make one from the shipping box, but disappointed that this integral piece was missing.
