SUPER HARD BRISTLES - THIN WOOD BASE AND HANDLE - FEELS CHEAP & FLIMSY LIKE IT WON'T LAST LONG
A number of years ago I had forgotten my hair brush while on a vacation and I needed to pick one up. I found a Titan 742 brush at a local Target store and thought it would do the job for the duration of my trip. It turned out to be the best hair brush I ever owned - which is why so many years later I remember exactly where I was and under what circumstances I came to own it - though I don’t recall how much it cost back then. The wood base and shaped wood handle gave that brush a nice heft that has been comfortable to hold - not like so many over-priced cheap, light-weight plastic brushes. The bristles started out somewhat hard, but got much softer over time. I’ve really liked the brush and it still functions just fine... but because it has lost some bristles, I thought I would check around to see if I could find a replacement.I was very happy to come across what appeared to be the exact same brush for sale here on Amazon. Same name (“Titan”), same model number (742), same measurements (I actually measured mine to make certain the measurements were the same) and it looked exactly the same - except the bristles on the one here on Amazon were more separated than my older one, which I attributed to use over time. And the price here on Amazon was incredibly reasonable. My new Titan 742 hair brush arrived today. To say I am thoroughly disappointed would be an understatement. I took the brush out of its packaging and immediately felt the difference: it felt much lighter than my old one. When I lined them up beside each other, I could see that they had shaved about 1/3 off the wood on this newer brush- making it thinner and lighter. Please check out the attached photos. The new brush feels lightweight and cheap. And while it was correctly listed as having “hard” bristles - these bristles are rock hard. I am not confident they would soften over timeas the older version did A look at the back of the box tells us this newer version of the Titan 742 is made in China. The absence of quality reflects that. For the price, this might serve the needs of someone who has use for a very light-weight brush with super hard bristles. I do not - so it went back. The seller makes getting a refund difficult. Fortunately Amazon made it easier.

Good brush
My 15 year old likes the bristles on this brush. The handle is short enough that she doesn't mind it, since she tends to hold the base under the bristles instead of the handle. Bristles are firm enough to go through tight hair, but not so hard that they scratch her scalp.

High quality
It’s the 2nd one I buy after a family member liked it and took it. It’s really excellent buy. It’s very hard but with the time will get a bit softer which is still excellent.
