An Omnivore's Honest Review
While I could easily forego all meats, there's no way I'd ever give up cheese - because what else pairs better with wine? That said, I am trying to be more mindful about incorporating fruits and vegetables into my daily routine. What I find most helpful about this book are the simple, friendly recipes and vibrant photos. As someone who doesn't exclusively cook vegetarian or vegan I find the descriptions and instructions so helpful...down to the tools you need to make your bowl. And, of course, a picture to go with the recipe (so that at least I know what my plate could look like - as long as it tastes good, right?). As a regular fan of Blueprint and Freshly, I'm a new fan of Plant Power Bowls.Perhaps, as an earlier review commented, this book is not for “vegan experts.” As a non-vegan I can't comment. However, the friendly, approachable, and relatable format of this book makes it perfect for anyone who is new to the vegan diet, vegan-curious, or simply looking to eat a little healthier. If you've read or browsed other vegan cookbooks that are pretentious, inundated with veggie-facts, and, frankly, boring ... you will enjoy this book.If you are non-vegan like me ... you will appreciate the simple deliciousness of the recipes in this book.

Sending back. Very basic recipes that I will not make, pictures poorly edited. Not for me!
I love plant based cooking books and mostly give them raving reviews but this one went straight back as for me personally it fails in so many ways. The recipes lack any sort of originality whatsoever - except for ones that baffled me completely and I would never make. Take for example , under the "treat bowl" section: the Baked sweet potato which is simply that, topped with nut butter and some raw oats? Raw oats are generally awful and taste like munching on sawdust and nut butter on sweet potato is just too much for me. And coconut chia pudding...this has been done to death!! The basic how to section covers how to boil Quinoa,Rice, Beans and Lentils which if you are that challenged, is usually found on the side of the packet they come inThe editing contains another of my personal pet peeves, recipes that run between several pages, with a picture on one page, the recipe on another, followed by the directions on yet another - this is muddled and at times, confusing. There are also multiple pictures where the picture is cropped in the middle of the dish (Rainbow bowl and weeknight Quinoa bowl) to the point that it looks like a poorly edited school project. Then there are recipes that simply do not work as suggested. I have several books that have Poke made of Watermelon which use some amazing flavor and marinades to make this work - this book simply has you throw some sesame seeds on top of watermelon and call it a day with a little dressing to finish it off. It also has zero seasoning so as much as a like edamame, radish, and carrot, there is nothing to elevate their taste! Most of the bowls are super simple and again done to death in much more creative ways in many other books. It's going back for me! It's nothing new, has way too many rice heavy dishes and I will not make these recipes! Maybe, just maybe, if you are new to a plant based diet, and want some very basic starter recipes, then go ahead and check it out, but if you own a few plant based books and want something new, this is not it!

I can’t wait to try them all!
I love the way the book is broken down into seasons! It’s helpful for grocery shopping and meal planning- that way I can shop fresh, local and sustainably. The recipes are easy to follow, use a lot of ingredients I already have in my fridge and pantry and are the perfect serving size (great for me and my husband-or pack the leftovers for lunch). The roasted beet and orange bowl has a delicious combination of flavors, perfectly seasoned, a nice balance of sweet and savory and delightfully filling. I get stuck in cooking ruts and prepare the same things over and over again—these recipes are easy enough to follow I can see myself trying new bowls all the time and working them into my routine to spice things up and work new produce into my diet at the same time. Very happy with this book and excited to try all the recipes!

Excellent resource for healthy eating
I could not recommend this cookbook highly enough! From the beautiful photography throughout the book to the layout, it is a wonderful resource for anyone who is looking to eat healthier. I really like that it is organized by season and that the dishes are very versatile. And I really appreciate that Sapana encourages each reader to eat what makes them feel the best and most healthy in their bodies. In a day and age where many diet theories can be very polarizing it is so refreshing to find a plant based book that in open to many different types of people using it. If you are completely plant based, if you are wanting to learn more about plant based eating, or if you are just wanting to add more veggies to your meals this is the resource for you!
