Prodded Hooking for a Three-Dimensional Effect

I want to make some projects to take to a nearby flea market that is located in the NC Mountains. I thought some 3D effect would add a nice touch. I have to say I'm not the easiest learner from reading instructions, I'm more of a hands on by watching someone. Well this book does both, you read the step and look at the picture and BAM there is what you want yours to look like. Thanks Gene for making this new adventure a little easier. Great book with lots of nice pictures of his work and others.

Another great book by Gene Shepard for all the rug hookers out there. Gene does a wonderful job with instructions, pictures and is a fountain of knowledge on the subject. A must for the rug hooker's library!If you are a Gene Shepard fan this book is a must.

Loved the book and CD. Learned some great techniques for my rug hooking projects.

I bought this as a gift for a friend, she seems to really like it. I may borrow it from her and give this style of rug hooking a try. The illustrations are very good and the explanations are clearly written.

I haven't watched the DVD, but Gene Shephard's You Tube instruction is great--that's why I ordered the book. Within 5 minutes I was able to use skills outlined in the book and incorporate them into patterns I'm working on.

This book is better than expected especially since it came with the CD.

This book contains a wonderfully written history of proddy or proggy mats as I know them. However even thought I have all the original antique tools, I need some one to show me how to use them but this is not the book. The instructions are too basic for beginners and it wasn't clear which ground fabric to use. I will come back to this book when I have more experience as the instructions seem clear to achieve the 3d effects and the mats created using the techniques look stunning.

I am very pleased with this book. It is well illustrated and the step by step instruction are easy to follow. The table runner project will definitely be under the Christmas tree of someone this year.

For anyone who loves rag rugging this book shows a completely different aspect. Inspiring throughout with lovely color photos and easy to follow instructions. Video was great too. Extremely glad I bought this book.
