TwixT Strategy Board Game STEM Toy for Boys and Girls Age 8 and up

I LOVE this game!!! I remember playing this when I was a child over 50 years ago...so nice to see it has returned. My grandchildren will love it and they will be using their minds and imagination...instead of the internet.

Awesome game. Stepson and I played several rounds of TwixT last night. I was so excited that he didn’t ask to play on his iPad or play video games even once while playing (unusual for him). My husband joined in when he saw what a fun time we were having, too. Really nice way to spend family time together, teach about thinking ahead/strategic plays and provide kids a game away from screen time.

Twixt has been out of print for more than 2 decades, for no good reason that I know of. Now it turns out that its US copyright had been expired for over 25 years (since 1991, more precisely) and that its US trademark had also been abandoned since 2007. These events paved the way for this new edition of Twixt. I found out this story (and many other details) while doing more research because of some concerning comments posted in the customer Q&A section of this item.The rules of Twixt are well-known and quite straightforward: it's a connection game played on a 24x24 grid (minus the spaces in corners), with players taking turns placing posts on the board and connecting them with link pieces. Two posts can be connected when they're a Chess knight move away (the only way they can be connected too, given the length of the link pieces). The links cannot cross but players can re-arrange their links any time during their turn.While its rules seem simple, Twixt delivers more complex play than you would expect. It also feels very approachable and I like the spatial thinking that it requires from its players.This new edition of Twixt comes in a compact square box. Inside the box you can find the following: - 4 plastic board sections that can be assembled together to form one large board. I had some worries about the assembly system being too flimsy, but it's actually a very solid design that should last a lifetime under normal use. - 48 red pegs, 48 red links, 48 blue pegs, 48 blue links. These are all well-manufactured, with no defects and looked solid enough. - 1 instruction sheet containing the game rules and some examples of peg placement and linking. - 1 instruction sheet for how to assemble the board.And that's it. The box is solid and fits all these components with little space to spare. The components are of as good a quality as I could expect.If you knew Twixt or you're just discovering it, this is a great edition to have.

I think this is a great game. My son Raylen really enjoyed it. When he does not have someone to play with he just uses it as a lego to build designs! By the way, I don't like the review by Megan Katz. Nothing like that should be posted unless they have guts to back up their assertions with US patent laws, which they cannot. If Michael Katz wanted to manufacture and patent the game, he had more than enough time to do so! Just saying!

I loved this game as a kid, and when I opened the box I felt a strong sense of nostalgia. I was obsessed with the original twixt game and was stoked when I saw this game for sale. The board doesn't have the adhesive strips like the original Instead the way the board connects together is really cool and the board feels really well made. was not sure if my 9 year old nephew would be able to play with me, but he beat me on his second game.

I just received this game...finally!! My dad used to talk about this game all the time, so I have been waiting. Well, I love it! I think my kids are already addicted too; it teaches great strategic thinking. It’s great family competition, and I’ve been named “King Twixt” already at home. I love this game.

Perfect gift for those who grew up with this game! My partner was constantly raving about it and had not known that there was a re-make of this game! Their parents grew up playing this game and so they grew up playing this game! I was so close to buying the original and used version until I stumbled upon this!

This game is amazing! We have spent quite a bit of time playing it with our nine-year-old daughter. Also, she has played this game with several of her friends, and they had a lot of fun. Even for adults is fun and excellent pass time. It is a game of strategy and requires often thinking out of the box. As far as the seller review, on time delivery, great packaging, and item is as described on the site. Great job!

対人戦でプレイする陣取り・・・というか、進路争奪ゲーム。チェスの「ナイト」の位置にある自らのコマ（ペグ）をつなげることができ、その線が盤面を横断できれば勝ちという、ルールはいたってシンプルなもの。但し、置く位置の自由度の高さによって、きわめて高い読みあいや戦略性があり、何度やっても飽きない楽しいゲームです。【ここからは他のレビューでがやがや言ってる偽物云々についてなので、興味ない方はスキップ可】偽物です！といったレビューが多いようですが、著作権が切れているということを考えると、嘘ではあるかもしれませんが、偽物ではないということです。そして、私はこのゲームをとあるボードゲームカフェでやって楽しかったため、ずっと探しておりましたが、再販もなく、購入できるのは中古品、しかもとあるイベントで日本ツイクスト協会とかいう方に若干上から目線で話をされ（これについては、私の主観および担当された方にもよることとは思います）、購入をあきらめていました。そんな中、たとえ多少の嘘が混じっていたとしてもこちらを購入できたのは大変うれしいですし、ゲーム性に問題はまったくありません。ツイクストを好きだという人達のはずなのに声高に「偽物だ！」というだけで「製作者本人の商品ではないけど、面白いゲームなので、ぜひ広まってほしい」という声がまったくあがらないのが残念でしかたない。私はこれを期にツイクストがもっと広まって、よりたくさんの人がこのゲームを楽しい！と感じてプレイヤーが増えるほうがよっぽど嬉しいです。

長年このゲームを探していたもので、よく調べずに購入してしまい後悔しています。他のレビュアーさんの言う通り権利を無視した商品だったようで商品のどこにもランドルフ氏の名前は入っていません。箱は素人が家庭のプリンターで印刷したようなお粗末なものでしたが、内容物自体は普通に遊べるものでした。ゲームそのものは素晴らしいものなのでとても残念です。

ゲーム自体は文句なく名作。この商品が発売されていなかった時はツイクストは大変な値上がりをしていて、日本での入手は困難でした。権利関係でいろいろと理不尽な文句を突きつけられたらしく、法律的に問題ない国でしか発売されなくなってしまいましたが、それでも正式な商品として出版してくれたことに感謝します。

外箱の印刷はカラーコピーのように粗いです。中身は綺麗でボードも固くしっかりしています。コマ類では、穴に刺したペグや、ペグに棒を置いたときは若干グラグラしますが、遊ぶのに全く影響ないと思います。日本語の説明書も付いていました。かなり面白い２人用ゲームで重宝しています！箱絵の印刷が思ったよりひどかったので星４つです。
