New Italian Espresso: Textbook + DVD-ROM - Beginner/pre-intermediate

I had to buy this due to changing course, if like me you haven't had a computer with a ROM drive you'll be disappointed there is not an option to download as there is with other textbooks.The layout of the book though is good.

Too expensive and a really bad basic book

There is all you need to start learning Italian.

I bought this book and dvd on requirement for an italian course I'm taking.but the textbook depends on the dvd. I haven't seen a computer with a dvd drive for ten years, but eventually bought one especially. And of course the dvd can't be read. After spending half my weekend trying to play the dvd (which requires adobe flash which is end of life this year) only get constant errors trying to read the brand new disc, I got another dvd drive in case the drve was damaged, but no it's the disc.How can such an expensive book not have a download option in this day and age? Either give the book away for free if you're not going to support it, or make it available online.
