Completely functional
Caveat: all I want this thing to do is slowly light up before it's time for me to wake up in the fall/winter months when it's still dark outside when my alarm goes off. I don't really want to use it as a light otherwise, or care about the color light functions. Or even use it as a clock. Got my phone and Alexa in my bedroom for that. That all being said, for the price I think this wake up light is pretty good. The instructions are short, but clear enough. I didn't really read them before setting it up for a trial right out of the box. Easy enough to set the time and alarm. If you're old enough to have used a clock/radio alarm or are tech savvy enough to understand how to post a boomerang to your instagram story, then you should be fine with figuring this thing out quickly. My only complaints are I don't really like any of the "noises." I hate the chirping birds the least, so I use that. I use this in conjunction with my iPhone alarm. Basically set it so my iPhone alarm first goes off about 20 minutes into the 30-min pre-alarm sounds light up cycle. The sounds are actually my only gripe. I really only want the light, but there seems to be no way to turn off the sounds. I might open it up and see if there's a wire to a speaker I can clip or something. Or not. For the price, I'm more or less satisfied for what this does. Seems like all these wake up light all have downsides of some sort and even the hundred dollar ones don't really function well. Based on those facts, I think this light is a good value.

No volume on sound
It’s okay. I wish there was more control over volume. There is no volume and the sound escalated to a crescendo. I like the light feature slowly coming on.

Small Clock and uneasy to use.
I like a shape of this item and three tones of the light. I can change light tone by one touch. However, I don't like a button range. All setup buttons are on the bottom. If you want to set up Clock or Alarm, you have to lift up the item. This item is for those who want to light in the bedroom. Overall, I like this item, but I experienced inconvenience to use it.P.s After three days using this Light Alarm Clock, I was accustomed to use it. Also, I found the good point of this clock. This clock made me to be able to wake up by its light and I can stop the alarm by one touch button on the top. So, I changed three stars to four stars.

You get what you pay for
I've been wanting one of these, but didn't know how well it would work for me, so I opted to purchase this cheaper version rather than the more expensive version and discovering I hate it. I do like the idea of light coming on 30 minutes prior to the alarm goes off, and I like the choice of nature sounds, so I do plan to purchase the more expensive product. This product SHOULD be easy to use, but it has several problems. The directions aren't written well, so it took more time just to get the time and alarm set. There is no way to turn the thing off, so if the alarm is set to go off M-F it will go off Saturday and Sunday as well. Also, the alarm can't be silenced as the directions state, so it is unusable to me as it will awaken my husband. If you know these clocks work well for you, and you want one, go with the more pricey version.

Effective Fade-in & Touch Sensor for Kids
Eventually got two! Got one for myself, then another for my four year old son, who loves the dim night light and color change options. This is making both evenings and mornings easier! Night light is great for kids room and nightly reading in both rooms. Can charge it during day, and then set it across the bedroom, unplugged on a bookcase, to make myself get up, and it holds a charge all night and hours longer! I usually plug back in during day. It may have lasted a couple days with charging. Even if you leave the light on during the night, the alarm will still sound, which is great for kids room. It's so simple to use (after you initially set it up), that my four year old can easily control both the white and colored lights, and turn off the alarm with touch of the one top button. The sound fades in nicely from very quiet to obnoxiously loud, so it will definitely wake you up, but gradually! If you want to turn it off for the weekend, just flip it over and push the alarm button, and watch for the clock icon to disappear.Design-wise, I love the chamfered/eased edge that eliminates any sharp edges and makes it safe for kids. Glad I got this cheaper model, as it does everything I need it to, and is helping my son get up on his own!

Battery is fussy/party light rules
The multi-colored party light is definitely the best feature of this product! The white light does not replicate natural sunlight, and the alarm sounds are annoying. On mine I have to make sure the plug is really jammed in to make sure the battery charges because the alarm won't go if the light isn't fully charged up. Aside from the alarm feature though, this is a really pleasant ambient light. I enjoy it's dim settings and did I mention the multi-colored party light?

I got a dud.
It was nice, both days that it worked. It charged up, worked for 2 mornings, and died. It would not take electricity - even though it was plugged in, the battery would not charge again and it just wouldn't work. It wasn't the cord, it wasn't the outlet. This thing was just straight-up defective. I gave it 2 stars because if it worked, it would have been great.

Good alarm+light combo
So it has 3 levels of brightness for yellow light and 256 colors rotating mode. 5 different nature sounds for alarm. It also has a sunrise feature which is gradually increasing brightness starting 30 minutes before the alarm. The minor inconvenience is all the buttons are on the bottom, so changing alarm time would require rotating it.
