ghd 4.0 fixed
ghd 4.0 now up and running, I looked into why R8 and R11 resistors go open circuit, and found out that's the cable connection within the straighteners, (the action of power going on and off due to loose or worn connection) so i've ordered a new cable and socket to prevent this happening again, (mk3 cable and socket for the ghd 4.0)

Life saver!
Managed to fix my £200 ghd hair straighteners with this! Was going to buy a new pair for £120 but instead thought I would try this, and it worked! Chuffed.

£120 straighteners fixed for less than £15
That's hopefully another few years of life left in theses straighteners resistor had blown due to a worn power coupling replaced resistor and power lead and coupling and working like new again if your handy with a soldering iron it's an easy repair.
