A great value for two useful tools
Things in a tape measure I am unwilling to compromise on anymore is having a good locking mechanism. This has it. I got this for my son who just graduated and is setting up his own tool set.Extra batteries are included for the laser level but you need to supply your own 9V battery for the stud finder. Since my son is still in an apartment, he's not going to use the stud finder much, anyway. However, he's an engineer and a little particular about hanging things on the wall. The level is small enough to place on top of a picture to ensure it's level and still fairly accurate for his needs.I'm happy I found the combo and he's happy with the gift.

Super easy to use !
This unit is nicely thought out and well built. The combination of triple level (horizontal, vertical and 45 degree), ruler, measuring tape, and laser - work well together. Frankly I was expecting a cheaply-made toy, but this arrived already loaded with the batteries plus a very useful picture hanging tool to help with a varied of pic hanging methods. Great set!The tape measure automatically locks when extended, then retracts on the push of a button. It makes a lot sense: I don't want to have to fight the tape to keep it open, then lock it to measure.Overall, well thought out, well built, well packaged, and well shipped. An excellent job.

Get a different stud finder
Trash. The stud finder is just guessing. Put multiple holes in a wall and it wouldn’t be consistant at all.

Easy to use!
This level was very easy to use for just one person. I recently bought some shelves and used this to hang them. The laser light is easily visible and is a great guide. The added measuring tape is one of my favorite features. This is because if you are ever trying to center something on a wall the included tape measure makes it easy to do so. No more eyeballing and then getting it slightly off center just to have to rehang something. My shelves are now all up, they are level, and look great!

This could have been so cool...
I opened this like a kid at Christmas. Yes, I set my expectations way too high. The tape is a pretty cool feature, and unlike other reviews, mine was level. the thing that really bugs me is that the Laser that has the 3 different settings has to be adjusted with a screwdriver. Yes, a screwdriver to twist the lens at the front. Oh, and that wasn't in the instructions. I figured it out when looking at the front. I saw two slits on the ring around the laser and put a screwdriver into it because there really wasn't any other way I could see to get the thing to change from vertical to horizontal, to the X. Anyhow, the dang thing doesn't click, or have lines marked where to stop. You have to level the level, then turn the laser on, shoot it down to a wall and get another level to make sure your laser's lines are leveled! That seems like a joke to me! the ability to adjust to level could be nice, but having to screw the dang thing through to each setting with nothing but Kentucky windage doesn't seem like I made a good purchase (I even got it on sale in one of Amazon's "Deal of the Day" buys. I shouldn't have put the high expectation on something so cheap. But I thought that there'd be a button you pushed 3 times to get to each laser setting. Oh well. It came with a free stud finder. I need to try to use that and then update this. Supposedly this stud finder can detect wiring as well as studs. I know. Wow, right? I'll get to it and get an update here sometime soon. I've always got a project somewhere.
