Extra Large Ice Cube Tray - Silicone Mold Makes 6 Slow-melting 2 Inch Ice Cubes

I use these large molds to freeze sauces, herb-infused butter, juices to use as "ice cubes" -- even carbonated soda cubes to chill carbonated drinks without watering them down. I just keep the frozen cubes in a plastic bag in the freezer and use as needed.Sometimes it can be difficult to get the cubes to release, but I just let them defrost a bit or run the back of the tray under a bit of warm water so the cubes will pop out. Some foods can stick to the silicone, so be sure to wash by hand and get them clean before their next use.Overall, I am happy with these trays. This size is hard to find in the kitchen stores. The price here is very good.

Opening the ice cube tray from the shipping packaging, the first thing I noticed was that it was BPA free. Very important. I opened up the packaging, and you can definitely notice a strong chemical-like aroma coming from the tray. l thoroughly washed it with a sponge and dish soap, and the chemical odor (smelled like wet paint) was still prevailent. I decided that I would throw it in the dishwasher on a high-heat cycle to see if that would take care of it. Afterwards, you could still smell the odor, but not nearly as much as before.The ice cube tray is quite flexible. It was difficult not to spill once filled, especially while maneuvering it around things in the freezer. The tray froze the cubes as advertized. I didn't want to try them in a drink because of the chemical smell that remained on the tray even after two washes.Great idea, for an ice cube tray, but I would like to see it more rigid, and the manufacturers need to address the chemical odor.

I love this ice cube tray. The huge ice cubes keep you drink cold longer without melting into your drink making it watery. You can freeze fruit juice in it for smoothies or just to add to your drinks. It is very useful for other purposes also. We put the huge cubes in the dog’s water bowls to keep their water cold. It lasts several hours while the normal size cubes melt in 20 -30 minutes. Also, the tray is good for freezing herbs in olive oil. Just place herbs in tray, fill with olive oil and then pop them out into your food while cooking it. Great for homegrown herbs when making spaghetti sauce, etc. The silicon is thick and sturdy. The tray is very well made. It does not bend and spill the water everywhere when putting in the freezer. I was sent a sample unit in exchange for a honest and fair review.

I got these to freeze portions of homemade soup to put in my son's lunch. At 2" cubed, they would have a volume of 0.55 Cup, which would make two of them perfect for my son's  Thermos FUNtainer Food Jar, Disney Cars, 10 Ounce . Unfortunately they are not really 2" cubed. They are actually only 1-7/8" cubed, which results in a volume of 0.45 Cup, which is nearly 20% less than they would be at their advertized size. At that size, two cubes would not be enough but three would be too much so I'm sending them back.If you are using these to make ice, then they are probably fine for that purpose. If you are using them to freeze food portions, just beware that they are not as large as you would expect based on the item description.

A normal ice cube tray has the dividers so that too much water in one spot will flow into a spot that is less than full. This tray has the dividers as the same height as the outer edges. The only way I could find to completely fill each spot was to put the tray in the freezer 3/4 full and top off with a glass of water.

This tray is awesome! I bought one in blue and another in red. The ice cubes come out huge and look nice. And because its silicone, its easy to get the ice out. Because they're big, I just need one or two cubes to cool my drinks or to make my blended drinks like shake and smoothies.

I purchased this product as an Amazon daily deal. I love it, this tray makes ice cubes perfect suited for any drink. I have been wanting to buy something like this for a long time, but have never wanted to pay the usual price at Bed Bath & Beyond.

Great for whiskey, just one rock instead of a bunch of ice that melts fast
