It holds the leaves well until you can maneuver them into a basket. For anyone with an aching back (or not) and an average to ample supply of leaves, it's a godsend. Just remember, you need a regular rake to rake them up, then this does all your picking up. UPDATE: It's almost a year later and I'm still in love with this rake for picking up leaves for bagging. It has saved my back over and over.
