The clamps work fine. These clamps are better or equal in quality with what you get from Fisher or VWR at a price much less than what you pay at Fisher or VWR.

Not cast iron
The only material mentioned for the 4 clamp set is cast iron. The set is, instead, made of aluminum. Perhaps the two clamp set is cast iron, given that it is twice the price per clamp relative to the aluminum clamps. I'd rather have had cast iron for better thread wear characteristics but will wait and see how well these hold up.

Solidly built lab clamp holders.
The clamps are fabricated well. I use them and laboratory stands for holding pieces of architectural models in place, while the glue sets.

Very flimsy
These clamps are VERY flimsy. I wouldn't trust them to hold anything of value. Will be returning for something more sturdy.
