DK Publishing: Amelia Earhart (DK Biography) Paperback – January 29, 2007

I sent this to my 9 year old granddaughter. She was thrilled. She loved that pictures were available in the book. Highly recommend.

While this book is intended for young readers (words such as "armistice" are defined in boxes set in the text), the text is thorough and nuanced enough to engage an adult reader. The book's subject is well-suited to a pictorial biography, and the well-chosen images are sharp and clear. A Lindy look-alike, Amelia Earhart's wonderful public image combined modest gentility, feminist self-confidence and competence, and a model's poise and grace. Happily, the image seems to have been thoroughly genuine, though the book makes it clear that there were better aviators.

Bought this book for my 11 year old doing a biography. Easy to read, great information. Recommend for kids if needed.

This book is phenomenal. Sometimes less is more, and this book doesn't have over 400 pages but a quarter of that and still crafts Ms. Earhart's biography with articulate precision. The book has a great catalog of pictures that you can't just find on the internet either. The early years of her life are brief but highly effective. Nothing in the book is stretched out for too long but you get a perfect amount of information that keeping the reader on his toes the entire time.

My daughter wants to be a pilot and loves Amelia Earhart. She is loving this book!

We really liked the pictures and format of the book, surprised that it wasn't bigger.

This book provided a great factual account of all aspects of her life. My daughter used it to write a book report for fifth grade. Lots of great pictures made the book come alive and we learned lots of interesting things about Amelia, like the fact that she went to med school for a while and love to sit on the roof...

These books are great for my third graders! They use these for their big biography projects and they offer tons of great info!

A clear, well written account of Earhearts life - along with good photographic illustrations. Recommended👍

This is a small but compact book full of photographs with loads of information. I would recommend this book for any fan of Amelia Earhart young and old.
