Engrossing Series - Powerful Action
I had purchased and read each of the books individually. I happened to catch a sale price on this box set and snagged it since I know I will want to re-read this series again later and see **just** how many things I missed the first time through. (The author has packed a TON of stuff into each book - many are things you don't catch until in a later book.)In case you are new to the series, below are my reviews from each of the individual books:Obsidian – Book 1I love dragons – the western version, not the eastern version which reminds me far too much of snakes. Or at least I love the idea of western dragons – their majesty and sheer size, and even sometimes their orneriness. So I was right there deep in the story as Aspen meets Obsidian for the first time in his dragon form . To be truthful, I don't know that I would have been as courageous as she was when Obsidian flew right up to her. That was pretty near the beginning of the story, and it just got better from there.Aspen – Book 2Aspen and Obsidian are back for more adventure. Too many human body parts have shown up to pretend there isn’t a rogue dragon with a taste for human flesh. Aspen’s love of dragons is a rare point of view among the fear held by most other humans. Relationship problems in the form of Obsidian’s former lover don’t help the stress levels. But we do get to meet several new characters that I loved – like Runa. I was lucky to snag books 2 through 4 when they were on sale near the end of October. The first story was so intriguing that I immediately started this one and did not want to put it down – so I stayed up later than normal to finish it.Valentine – Book 3I really, really should not have started this book immediately after the 2nd one of the series with the extra long and busy day I’d already had, but the story line was so intense and engrossing that I couldn’t stop myself. So while it was already late when I began reading it, it was far later in the dark morning hours when I finally put down my Kindle. (Considering I had been nodding off from sheer exhaustion for the previous hour, I managed to read the same couple of paragraphs at least five times before heading to bed. ~lol~) Aspen’s sister joins the story and becomes another main character, all while the rest of them keep the dragon secret from her for much of it. Lots of laugh out loud moments. While not a major character, Runa may actually be my favorite character from the series.Skye – Book 4After finishing book 3, I dove directly into this story. While the first 3 books in the series were sequential, this book actually covers time across more than one of the previous books. Not only do we find out why Skye and Rowan have been missing, but we learn the answers to a number of “loose threads” that weren’t super apparent as concepts that hadn’t been fleshed out. So many things that seemed unimportant or just periphery items are explained and the picture zooms out to show us the whole deal (or pretty close to it). The dragons are heading to war, and we find out why and mostly who is on which sides. I zoomed through the story, not able to devour it fast enough. And then the story ended – and I wanted the next installment **now**. ~lol~ I am eagerly looking forward to the 5th story in the series. The Kings – Book 5This final installment in the series wraps up all the pieces from the first four books. So many things have been hinted at during the previous stories, and this one reveals which were “red herrings” and which were real foreshadowing. There were even a few things that made me hit my forehead and wonder why I didn’t catch them earlier on. The action will have you cheering, laughing, breathing a sigh of relief, and likely even crying at times.

A heartwarming story of dragons
I enjoyed this story set across North America. Great character development, scene setting and drama. I’ve read this series twice now, the first time a few years ago. I just finished Books 1-5 again and am looking froward to book 6-30. I can’t wait to see where this story will continue and branch off with a new generation of dragons.

The Dragon Kings box set 06/15/2021
This set is very enjoyable. It tells the story’s of three dragon kings and the reason they come to be. There’s a war coming a white witch also a arctic dragon is going to try to kill all the stand in her way humans as well as dragons. So a prophecy has foretold of this war but many of the dragons only think of it as a fairytale. Until the first black dragon king is found but he think he is just the new king because the old king has died. But soon another is found now the prophecy is coming true. So enjoy these very good stories of how it starts and what happens with the war!!

Who loves Dragons
This box set starts off with a dare devil FMC that will climb, rappel off cliffs anything to get the perfect photos of dragons. She finds herself on a plateau high up when a black obsidian dragon lands next to her. She shows no fear she walks right up to him and touches his scales. Little does she know it allowed her to be marked by the dragon. The main MMC is the obsidian dragon sent out to be human for a year to learn experience from humans as he is to be the next king of dragons. I bet you can see where this leads and you are correct. However, there is evil and a hinged dragon eating humans. Also an evil witch that entrances a bunch of dragons that cause mass destruction for the humans when there had been harmony between the races. Will they be able to stop the evil and the killing from both sides before the human army comes to annihilate all dragon kind. Read the series you won’t regret it.

Great read!
To be honest, when I read the description of this series and even when I began reading it, I wasn't instantly draw in. BUT I kept reading and within a few pages I was completely hooked. The author does a great job with character development and the plot/story line is very original. I found myself unable to put the books down and couldn't believe how quickly I read through each one. My favorite thing about these books is how there are elements present in the very first book that hint at something that doesn't happen until the end and you may not even realize the significance until then. These elements were incredibly thought out and keep you guessing! There are a few things that happen where the author leaves out how they were able to happen (for example a character all the sudden has something but we don't know how he/she got it) and there are some definite editing errors (missing words, grammar, punctuation, etc.) but none of that takes away from the story. The first four books are the best. I like the last book as well, but everything that happens leaves the characters spread out at times and you feel like your are jumping around between all of the characters (still a great read though). Definitely recommend this series!

Okay, but ...
The saga was just okay. Not great or memorable. While I liked all of the characters, the story at times seemed to drag on. Not gonna lie, I almost gave up on it a couple of times in the middle. But I pushed through and finished the last story. While I'm satisfied with how this one ended, I won't continue with the next installment. I'm just not invested enough in the characters to continue.

Books 1-5
When I first picked this series I wasn’t sure about it. When I started reading I fell right into the story line and felt like I was part of the story. Amazing character development, and story telling. If you like dragons as much as I do, I highly recommend this series. I could not put the first 5 books down once I started reading.

Cute
Nice, cute, entertaining. A good read, well written though not enough out of the trope to really flesh out the story. Enjoyable and worth the time to enjoy. A great bathtub read.
