I bought this as a 2nd attempt to sort the airbag light error on my 2015 VW polo, after I had bought another unit which said it was a VAG scanner and compatible with my car. This first one wouldn't connect at all, and gave 'Link Error' all the time. I finally managed to return it and get a refund and thought I would try this type of unit, where you need your own laptop to view the information. The Airbag light being on all the time and the error on the dash when you start the car was not an accident fault, as I had created the fault myself when trying to solve another newish VW polo issue - worn and dirty wiper steering stalk switches, giving a problem of the wipers not being able to be turned off. I removed the air bag and steering wheel and managed to clean the contacts of the wiper switches, and when I thought I would check if I had sorted the problem, I then re-connected the battery with the air bag still out of the car! The wiper problem was fixed, but I now had an air bag light error caused by the ignition on and airbag not connected moment.I bought this unit but it took a good bit of research on the web, etc. to find out how to install the software onto my laptop as it is not plug and play, so you need to have a decent bit of computer knowledge with extracting files, copying files to other folders and doing things in a certain order to get it to work. Finally, I got it to operate on Windows 10 . You can do all this without going near the car. I then had the software running and connected it to the diagnostic port under the steering wheel dashboard area on the Polo and turned on the ignition. Pressed connect and it soon connected up but kept going round the K line connection. I then went back to the home page and went straight to the airbag section where it showed the air bag light fault but with no cause for the error. I then pressed the reset the DTC error button or something named like that to erase the fault which it seemed to do and then disconnected the plug. Fingers crossed when I then switched the ignition off and then back on to realise that the air bag light and error message was gone. Success !!. I never looked at the other options on the software but there seems to be hundreds of items and checks . I only bought it for the airbag light and it was well worth the cash, even if it goes in the drawer. Now been running the car for a week and the error has not come back. Well worth the money.
