ACCUPLACER Study Guide: Test Prep Secrets for the ACCUPLACER

I bought this for my college enterance test and while I tested into the classes I wanted, it wasn't due to this book as I found the most useful (and free I might add) information just by googling the different subjects I was told would be covered by the college. There were many print mistakes as well. I would get an answer that I knew to be correct from a math problem, the answer would not be among the answers below the questions but when you looked it up in the answer portion, my original choice was listed as the correct one. It did delve into each math poriton but instead of explaining it, the book often just gave you sample problems and questions without giving you the who, what, why, when, and where. I wouldn't recommend this book, the price is outrageous for what you get. Save yourself money and just look it all up online, there are amazing FREE tutorials on many subjects online.

I took the Accuplacer cold. I performed fine on the essay but missed being eligible for quantitative reasoning by a few points. So I purchased this book to try and gear up for a retest because I would very much like to get into college algebra and not have to meander through math 1010 1030 and 1050 to fulfill my math requirement.If you need the barest of reminders you're golden with this book but being someone who took math more than 5 years ago I wanted something with more substance. For the price they sell this thing I could have gotten a teach yourself algebra and a teach yourself geometry book, saved money and felt a lot more prepared for the challenges of my future math commitments.

This book is not worth a dime! it doesn't explain well concepts and skips steps leaving you wondering what just happen. The reading portion is very small and not enough information is given in order to prepare you for the comprehension part of the exam, its only 6 pages of material and then 3 more pages to test your knowledge. The math portion is a bit longer but still not clear enough.In the introduction it does say that is not intended to teach or reteach the concepts that are in the book but is intended to help you recall the information. Do yourself a favor and get your self a book that actually teaches you all the steps in the math portion because the truth of the matter is that we can not rely 100% on our memory to get us thru ALL the math concepts in the Accuplacer or this book. There will be steps that we will miss and question that need answer.

For someone like me, who's being out of school for so many years and is foreigner (english is not my first language) is not the best choice. The English section is poor and the Math section needs some improvement.This books can help you maybe if you just finish school or just want to refresh your knowledge.But it won't teach you anything or clear your doubts or questions.Only shows how the accuplacer will be..Don't spend your money on this. On I Tunes, on the apps store section,you will find better choices for Math and English subjects...just saying.

I took the accuplacer and did great!I studied on this book and in few pages it quickly takes you trough what all you'll face in the test without any frills.It's sharp and accurate.Basic and effective!

The sample questions on this study material is harder than the actual Accuplacer test. When you have studied the sample test, you are ready to take and pass the exam.

Great book. I liked it a lot...it helped me a lot in the essay section. I went to High-School in Mexico and now I'm taking my basics classes at TCC.

Awful! Dont waste your money, to many misprints and whoever wrote this book cant add! Complete waste of money and time.
