Formulated with aloe and peptides to hydrate the skin without irritation, the non-foaming gel formulation is excellent for all beard types, allowing for easy gliding of the razor as well as accurate and quick lining of the beard, mustache, sideburns, and goatee while shaving. Directions: Wet the desired shave areas with warm water, followed by the application of the gel. Shave. Rinse with warm water, followed by cooler temperature water.

Comparing the top rated shave gel
So I decided to do a fun experiment and try a bunch of clear shaving gels that are good for people that have beards. Clear or almost clear gel make it much easier to work around permanent facial hair. All of these had decent rating on amazon so I thought to try them all. So here are the results. All of them performed well 24 hours after my last shave. After 2 days though there was a bit of a difference. The Pacific Shaving Company and Van Der Hagen did not give as smooth of a shave as the others. Part of the problem with both of them is that the consistency is too jelly-like and does not distribute nicely on the face.In terms of scents I lived the American Crew and Barbero the best. I didn’t like the smell of the Pacific Shaving company product. But this is subjective.I let me beard grow for 3 days and believe it or not the Gillette Fusion Proglide easily performed the best. I found this out by covering half my face with one gel, and used another gel on the other side. You can really feel the difference when you do it like that. If you use one gel only per shaving session then its really hard to feel the difference. I really did not like this conclusion to be honest. Gillette is a huge company, and I like to cheer for the underdog trying to come up. Only Barbero was close in performance, and American Crew was also decent.Barbero had a screw cap. What made it worse is that I first opened it a ton of gel came spurting out and got wasted. All the others have a flip cap which is much more convenient. But if you want to support another gel instead of Gillette I’d give Barbero the #2 spot. Third best falls to American Crew. Barbero and American Crew both had a better scent than Gillette. So to review in terms of ranking:1. Gillette Fusion Proglide2. Barbero3. American Crew4. Van Der Hagen5. Pacific Shaving Company6. Elegance Gel (not pictured)Hope this helps. Happy Shaving!

Works as intended
Is not quite as slick for easy razor glide as I had hoped it would be but it works ok. Very clear.

It works ok but it could be much better
I bought this to use with my straight razor since it’s always a challenge shaving around a beard and not being able to see what exactly is going on. It does work and it works pretty well....but not great. It seems to get really sticky or like it starts to evaporate before you’re done shaving and I found the need to constantly keep reapplying it. If you’re only looking to do small sections of your face like I am then this will probably work for you but if you have larger areas to shave I would look for something better.

The Best Shave Sculpting Gel I've Found
I've tried several sculpting shave gels and this is by far the best. The viscosity is just right. It is very sensitive skin friendly. I use it for the second, against the grain shave and it virtually eliminates razor burn.

Ok
I love the fact that its clear and makes shaving around a beard easier, but outside of that its nothing special. Decent for the price.

Awesome
I've been using a much more expensive product for years (Dermologica Invigorating) which costs four times as much and is, I believe, not being produced anymore. It doesn't hold a candle to this stuff which delivers what it promises: a perfect way to shape your beard and a smooth close shave. Highly recommend.

Clear gel so you can see what you are doing
This is great shave gel for shaving with a straight razor because it allows you to protect from razor rash while still seeing whats going on. Its a damn good shave gel.
