The short fall of this product i beleive the could have added a power switch on it and up grade and switching on the ouput to reducing the speed when using a fan or even dimming light depending the user choice. I added a power switch for when i am not using the equipment The 12volts output is very strong i will have to buy a Voltage Motor Speed Controller DC 1.8V 3V 5V 6V 12V 2A Adjustable Driver Switch with Speed Control Knob to help with fan speed. Integrating these idea into the equipment could help a all in one control. Over all i am saticfied and would recommend it for projects. So it set at 42.5 degree start and 35degree end. it takes roughly 5 minutes from start to end to cool and cycle starts at 15minutes intervals. i just a tape to hold down the guage for now. I going to put the switch and speed control on the equipment built in as soon as i recieve them. I will update that project when i am done. Simple. The two setpoints must be at least 2 degrees C apart. (There's no way to set it read F.) I've had no reliability issues with this at all. Once it was set up, it just works. I noted that one of the question answers mentioned a small battery to maintain the setpoints during power outage. This seemed unlikely to me at this price point (I've done electronic product design for a living), so I opened it up, and it appears that the (unlabeled) processor must have some on-board flash or EEPROM, which would make the setpoints completely non-volatile. Certainly I had no problem during my short-duration tests with setpoints being lost when the power was interrupted.
