Lots of pros, one con is kind of big though.
Very well made for a $100 sword. The blade is straight, properly dark black, no scuffs, and it came with the blade oiled to keep off corrosion. The scabbard is great quality, and the cloth wrapping on the hilt is perfectly snug and gorgeous. Almost perfectly uniform. I can tell by the bamboo pegs that are set in with resin, that it is full tang. At least 3/4ths tang. The etching is very nice and I love the font, which exceeded my expectations. As a bonus, it showed up wrapped in a beautiful peach orange/pink sword travel cloth that I had no idea would come with it.The only con so far, (as I just got it yesterday day) is that the blade is really heavy. And when I say, 'heavy' I don't just mean that the centre of balance is a little off, I mean the blade is is literally nearly twice as thick as most swords of this style. Now that means it's tough, and it comes sharpened unless you say otherwise so it would be a great chopper. But keep in mind the weight.

Excellent fittings. Very tight
Excellent fittings. Very tight! Neatly done same wrap. Superb packaging: encased in Styrofoam. No "wiggle room" for it to get damaged in transit. Blade is tremendous value for the money. Yes the collar, menuki, and tsuba are a tad utilitarian/Spartan -which personally think it works for the aesthetic of this particular sword- but those could always be swapped out. Custom engraving was done to the specification I requested via email. Oh, & yes it will cut

Cool for display
It's heavier than a baseball bat, and the whole thing vibrates when I try to chop even thin branches. I'll stick with a machete.

Whoa, but not a true Ninjato.
*Explanation* - I true Ninjato, they say, not me. (So don't go yelling at me.) Is to be 48cm, aka 18.89". This one, is a straight Katana. 10.75" handle, 27.25" blade. It is the same length, as my Katana. So this is not a true Ninjato, by their rules. If you don't care, read on ...When I ordered this sword, I wasn't in a rush or this was a gift for someone's birthday. So it took 20 days from ordering, to arrive. (They claimed longer, so I was pleased when it arrived a month sooner.) When it arrived, there was a note in my mailbox, I had missed them. So I headed down to the post office, where my package was waiting. The way the lady acted, seemed to say. It wasn't they who left the note, but someone else. Whatever, for who cares who sent it!The sword was packed, in a Styrofoam box. That was specially made, for the sword. Others use tubes or cheap boxes, this way protected the sword far greater then any other packaging. Yes, it does make a mess and its not Earth friendly. So yea, that's a downside if you have no way of recycling the Styrofoam in your area. The handle of the sword, is 10.5" long. Wrapped in shrink wrap, it was easy to remove and protected the handle from any accidents. When you hold it, it feels comfortable or natural in your hand. (Some swords have areas, that are not comfortable to hold or dig into your hand.) The blade is 27" plus, to be wrapped in a thin plastic bag. The sword was well coated, as there was lubricant within the bag itself. This told me, they had gone out of their way to protect and care for my future purchase. If you watch say, a ninja movie. You'll see them use their thumb to release or push the blade out of the scabbard, about one to three inches. Some swords have to be pulled or tugged on. This one moved, with the flick of my thumb. That screams, the sword and scabbard are perfectly mated! (I own a Marine Saber, that you need all your strength to remove.)The draw, from the scabbard. Is both smooth and quiet, no hearing strange noises or sudden tightening. Now on to the swords color, black. The scabbard, blade and handle are all black. The only other color, is gold. So don't expect to see pink or whatever. This is truly one exceptional, black Ninjato! The only problem I have, is the square tsuba. Its not that there's anything wrong with it, just not my style. Other then that, ITS ONE OF THE BEST SWORDS, IN MY COLLECTION!!!

Not happy
Im not sure if i just have lemon. I have had this sword since 2/2/17. I recieved the item with cracks on the scabbard. Now the handle seems to slowly be loosening. The blade is sharp. Looks nice. I just feel deceived. I read the reviews before purchasing. Lots of ppl saying battle ready. How they like the craftsmanship. I have not even swung this at anything. Another thing why is the black one the only sword without a curved the blade. I would have picked a different one if I had realized it was a straight blade. I feel like I just have a piece to stick on the wall and look at, and thats not the impression i was given reading other reveiews.
