More fun than a barrel of Kitsune
This story has become a grand tale, many even two lol. I am enjoying it so much that I can almost ignore the occasional word that seems really out of place. It seems as if Mr Varnell uses a thesaurus without double checking a dictionary for the actual meaning of the word. I will concede that since they are always amusing, these Malapropisms might be intentional, and if this is the case BRAVO!

A rollercoaster in more ways than one
In a seemingly short time, Brandon weaved a large number of relatively large plot points together. While I would not call it "expertly" since some of it felt jarring and too packed together all at once, I did feel like this book managed to weave some strong and confusing story plots together to explain them effectively. It was effective at creating a tense atmosphere with the pacing, however I feel the story struggled to cohesively bring it all together. All in all- a good, fast paced story that kept one on the edge, with a delivery that (while it could be improved on) left me waiting for the next book anxiously.

Another great volume in the series
Love this series both for the plot and the "plot', lot's of interesting things going on with still many unexplained parts. like with kevin and his abilities, how much exactly can he do.another great aspect is the relationship development, iris lovers over the last few volumes have seen how she's opened up more to Kevin and isn't solely in it just so she can be by Lillian's side and this volume is no different.lot's of Iris development and shenanigans. Can't wait for the next one after how this book ended. Longest 3 weeks to go.4.5 stars

Still going strong!
What's there not to love about this volume? It's got all the things that make the American Kitsune series great and it keeps getting even better. Normally I'd expect a drop in quality when a series starts to run this long but instead it feels like the author is honing his craft, creating an already great story and shaping it into something even better as each book comes out. As always Iris is still my favorite character and I love what I'm seeing in regards to her further developing as a character involved in Kevin and Lilian's life and this book adds even more for her. I can't wait to see what happens next.

My guilty pleasure?!
I've been following this series since the beginning. The author has improved greatly, and I've become more aware of the manga and the anime he both admires and lampoons, To Love Ru, Masou Gekuen, (adults only), any number of harem type stories that makes otaku scream with delight, and I've got to admit that he has reached the point where he's able to spin a yarn worthy of comparison with Japanese light novels ( at least in translation. Worthy of a try,at the very least. Try it,you'll like it!

Another volume that’s hard to put down
Wrapping up the ninth volume, continues the action packed pace of the previous. While I would recommend if you’re new to the series to start at the beginning. This volume was well worth the read and really continues to build and reveal stronger characters. There is a degree of fourth-wall breaking and Easter eggs, I’d say a logical amount though considering it’s billed as a Kitsune trait. I think the last closing thought, other than you should read the series, is jezz Lillian, if you’re going to be drawing manga, why not draw some of the author-sans other titles.

Was expecting awesomeness again... I got something even better
Wow. What another amazing book. I really wasn’t expecting the sons of humanity to pull THAT big of a twist. Very unexpected, I can’t wait for Kevin to eventually learn more about his hands powers. Love the pacing and even with the seriousness and action it still keeps that perfect balance of perversion and comedy. With that being said. I agree with Lillian and Iris. Destroy kevin’s Human morals with a hammer they are in the way lol. But amazing book. Now i’ll Wait until spring for the next one.

Humans: Naked and afraid
*SPOILER WARNING* I wanna say that the whole reaction humans had against yokai is extreme, but judging modern intelligence im afraid to say it's possible in an absolute worst case scenario. I'll sum it up like this; All of humanity, within the span of a week became like nazi Germany. Instead of stars to mark jews it's these yokii cancellation threads. Over all fantastic book HOWEVER, Kevin's romance morals need the same treatment as when he was afraid to talk to girls. That being do it anyway and smash it with a hammer

First yay, then nay..
Started off real weird.. It barely related to how the last chapter ended and instead just put Kevin and the others back to a what looked like a normal school life.. As if this wasn't weird enough the author really overdid lilian's manga obsession in this more than annoying book.. From her stupid anime attack names to her manga drawing, what used to be a little nerdy but otherwise lovely girl now turned into some real manga nutjob who's barely connected to the real world any longer..The story soon turns dark... Things happen.... Stupid decisions are made... and most of all did the author focus too much on the protagonists to even consider that the scenario he created wouldn't have lasted half as long as it's dragged out here... most yokai are not much more than humans with animal parts but there's also one to two handfull of powerfull entities who might've ended a human/yokai war within a few minutes at most... yet the story continues and kevin, lilian and a more and more useless iris become teenage soldiers in said war who (despite being human and two-tail-kitsune) miraculously stand out and fight enemies face on which even kotohime could barely win against... A very dissapointing reading experience 'n one of the rare pictures in this book is even wrong as the text describes kevin acting with his left arm but the (3 pages too late image) showing him acting with the right...
