It is the newest fighter aircraft of the United States Air Force (USAF). Though originally an air superiority fighter for use against the Soviet Air Force, it is also capable of ground attack, electronic warfare and signals intelligence roles. The F-22 is a combination of stealth, supercruise, maneuverability, integrated avionics and improved supportability. It performs both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions, making it vital to the USAF. The Raptor is capable of providing first-kill opportunities against threats. Its sophisticated aerodesign, advanced flight controls, thrust vectoring and high thrust-to-weight ratio provide the capability to outmaneuver all current and projected aircraft. Intended to be the leading American advanced tactical fighter in the early part of the 21st century, the Raptor is the world's most expensive fighter to date. In 1981, the Air Force put out a requirement for a new air superiority fighter that would replace the capability of the F-15 Eagle, incorporating emerging technologies such as advanced alloys, fly-by-wire flight control systems and stealth technology. In October 1986, two contractor teams, Lockheed/Boeing/General Dynamics and Northrop/McDonnell Douglas, were selected to build prototypes. In August 1991, after a fly-off competition, Lockheed's YF-22 was declared the winner and the company was awarded the contract to produce the ATF. Review: Great MasterCraft Aircraft Collection - Great detail, great quality the usual as expected of a Mastercraft product. I got a different stand than the one advertised but it is much better the stainless stand because with it I can tilt the aircraft left and right as if it is manuevering while in flight! Review: To complete my collection - I am very glad with this 1/48 scale model of the F22 Raptor. I have seen this magnificient plane fly at an airshow in the UK, it was amazing... Together with the YF-23 model plane I have completed now this serial. Thanks to desertcart! ## Features - Handcrafted Resin Model Airplane - Handcrafted and Handpainted - Comes with base stand ready to display - Comes with base stand ready for display ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0006N1QKY | | Additional Features | Portable | | Brand | Daron | | Brand Name | Daron | | Collection Name | All | | Color | Gray | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 21 Reviews | | Finish Types | Painted | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00080957206908 | | Included Components | stand | | Item Weight | 4.4 pounds | | Manufacturer | Mastercraft Collection, LLC | | Manufacturer Part Number | B5948 | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | Y. | | Material | Wood | | Material Type | Wood | | Model Number | MCF22CW | | Model Year | 1986 | | Mounting Type | Tabletop | | Product Care Instructions | Wipe Clean | | Recommended Uses For Product | Home, Outdoor | | Seasons | All Seasons | | Style | Modern | | Theme | airplane | | UPC | 080957206908 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | character | American | ## Product Details - **Color:** Gray - **Brand:** Daron - **Theme:** airplane - **Material:** Wood - **Style:** Modern ## Images ![Mastercraft Collection F-22 Raptor Model Scale: 1/48, Grey - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51BaqvThKyL.jpg) ![Mastercraft Collection F-22 Raptor Model Scale: 1/48, Grey - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/715cCsOmfJL.jpg) ![Mastercraft Collection F-22 Raptor Model Scale: 1/48, Grey - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81JzxIWshTL.jpg) ![Mastercraft Collection F-22 Raptor Model Scale: 1/48, Grey - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81eNlWe7P4L.jpg) ![Mastercraft Collection F-22 Raptor Model Scale: 1/48, Grey - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81xaAS8WkdL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great MasterCraft Aircraft Collection *by N***O on May 3, 2019* Great detail, great quality the usual as expected of a Mastercraft product. I got a different stand than the one advertised but it is much better the stainless stand because with it I can tilt the aircraft left and right as if it is manuevering while in flight! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ To complete my collection *by R***D on April 11, 2012* I am very glad with this 1/48 scale model of the F22 Raptor. I have seen this magnificient plane fly at an airshow in the UK, it was amazing... Together with the YF-23 model plane I have completed now this serial. Thanks to Amazon! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It’s not the stand pictured *by C***D on June 18, 2023* The aircraft is decent and detailed, no real issues with that. The stand was NOT the stand pictured. It had a chrome stand and black baseplate. Hated the chrome, so I taped off the base and sprayed the chrome satin black. Looks fantastic now. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.be/products/8584700-mastercraft-collection-f-22-raptor-model-scale-1-48-grey](https://www.desertcart.be/products/8584700-mastercraft-collection-f-22-raptor-model-scale-1-48-grey) --- *Product available on Desertcart Belgium* *Store origin: BE* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
