Intellibed Gel Mattress Topper, California King

So this was a bit of a disappointment. I had been luck enough to use on of these in years past, but they have changed the product (not saying there was any trickery, just that it wasn't as useful as the old product). As others have mentioned, the foam surround is way too wide...the old product did not have any foam at all, it was all gel. Looks like they have cut down on the gel by 30% or so. My heels now sit on foam, not on gel, and if I don't sort of move over more than I usually do from the edge, my shoulder hits the foam instead of gel as well.One of the main problems I have had with the gel mattresses is that there really needs to be some education to go along with it. Don't even think about using their mattress protector to make your judgement, as that thing defeats the purpose of the product by creating a drum tight sleep surface. For the same reason, you will also need to use jersey cotton sheets or similar, that STRETCH, or you will not get the benefit of this kind of product.For my upper back/shoulder area I am considering either cutting some of the gel connections to make it a little more giving, or cutting out a chunk, and putting a much softer purple pillow section into the thing, as well as near the heels.That said, it has been great for my lower back, so it is good in that sense, it just should be a lot better.
