The Moving Book: A Kids' Survival Guide Spiral-bound – August 26, 2008

When our 8-year-old daughter found out we were going to move out of state, she asked for moving advice. I found this book and she devoured it. It told her what to expect before and after the move, and it had places for her to journal. It was just what she needed to help her through the biggest event in her life so far.

At first I thought it was smaller than expected and quite expensive but it has worked a treat ... keeping our granddaughter (who was worried at the prospect of moving) busily engaged in planning and looking ahead positively – so well worth the price.

Quite a nice book but aimed very much at moving far away. Lots of content about not seeing friends again, and a complete change of location. If you're moving locally you end up skipping lots of chapters. Still, it meant a lot for our children that we were thinking of them and the gesture was probably as important as the book itself. I would be tempted to buy one and do the relevant activities without showing them the book!

This book is excellent for kids age 6 to about 13ish. It has brilliant suggestions to help them adjust to moving house. Everything from how to write to old friends to how to make new ones. How to find your way around your new area and making memories of your old. Can't recommend this book enough! My boys adored it and the address book section came in very handy!

recommend this for anyone moving with a slightly older child as most books are aimed at preschool or young child. My 8 year old liked this - I would say age 8-12 would benefit.

I bought this book for a 7 year old about to move house/country as I thought the other moving-themed books available seemed to be mostly picture books/ more suitable for younger kids.This is quite a good book but very small and slim for the money!!
