I bought this converter so I can play my Wii on my 65" UHD TV. Works like a charm and I couldn't be happier. I do want to point out something that should be obvious, but after reading the reviews prior to purchase, it apparently needs mentioning. First the sound, picture and screen quality are not only subject to the converter's ability to do its job, but also a reflection of the device it's converting from. RCA (yellow, red and white) is old technology, and the items that still use it are, well, old technology. Casting what my Wii can manage onto a New Samsung 65" 4K UHD TV therefore is NOT going to be UHDTV. So yeah, the edges aren't as smooth and crisp as one gets with HD, let alone UHD. Not as noticeable with the sound, but I'm sure there'd be the same discrepancy if I had the matching surround sound to go with the TV. All this doodad does is convert the info/resolution the Wii puts out so my modern TV can understand it and display it for my enjoyment. It cannot add info/resolution. At anyrate, it does everything I wanted it to do and looks/sounds great for what it is. I'm now joyfully, Zumba-ing in the privacy of my livingroom. Plus you can't beat the price!

Sometimes we need to play DVDs we check out from the library, and this got our old DVD player hooked up to the HDMI TV just fine. It's a shame such an adapter needs to be powered, but there is no way around that. Luckily we have tons of USB chargers from umpteen devices over the years, and they worked fine to power this. Picture looks good.So if your HD TV doesn't have RCA inputs, no worries -- just buy one of these things and "voila" -- you are in business.

I had a WII that had been sitting around and the kids wanted me to set it up. I didn't realize my new TV had no RCA jacks. I tried to run it through my AV Receiver, but no video. There was sound. I hooked this up in about a minute. I would have given it 5 stars for Picture Quality, but it's not really sharp for a 1080 tv, but that could have something to do with the WII. I had to calibrate the sound, but it wouldn't calibrate the video. Unknown why. Either way the kids are happy and they're playing a classic bunch of games. I recommend the item.

I connected a VCR to this and connected an HDMI cable to an HDMI splitter which sends the signals of six different inputs to two televisions one at a time. Even with the splitter being used, the picture from the VCR is better than it was when I connected it directly to a television with a high quality RCA connector.

My TVs RGB in claimed that green doubles as analog video (yellow), but I only got B&W.This little box fixed that allowing me to use one of my 4 HDMI portsWorks fine.And folks, be fair, don't expect 4K quality from your 280i VHS tapes .... just not going to happen .... not this boxes fault

simple way to connect anything with RCA output (old VCR, DVD) to newer TV with only HDMI inputs

I needed something to be able to connect my Nintendo Wii to my HDMI only plasma TV. This works great! Setup was extremely easy and my daughter was playing her games in a matter of minutes.

After replacing my HDTV last year, I found out that televisions now may not have old AV composite inputs. This means noore viewing/playing older game systems or video players. However with this device, you can hook them all up again. Now you can play Playstation 1, Super NES, or even hook up a VCR. Quality will look crappy on a high definition television, but this device will actually let you hook them up to see for yourself.
