The belt alone improves posture and enough brace help in the pain. The soft sponge does apply a small amount of pressure to help some. Thank you. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ HELPED WITH SUPPORT WHILE DOING HOUSEWORK *by K***R on August 3, 2016* I have on and off again issues with my back so it's not something I deal with on a daily basis but when it does flair up I need to use something. I've worn support belts before but none that used magnetics. I like the softness of this belt and also that it is so thin. The others I've used have been a little bulky but this works well under my normal clothing. I wore it when doing housework and working in the yard. I'm unsure if the magnetics had anything to do with it but my back certainly felt better. There were no directions for cleaning this belt that I could find. The smell of it was nauseating when I took it out of the package. I sprayed it with febreze and let it air out but the smell still hasn't gone completely away. Seems to do the trick for the price.I have shopped on Amazon for years and rely heavily on reviews.
