Word of caution, there doesnt appear to be a safety Temp limit, allowing the heating pad to be programmed up to 220 deg C, where the heating pad melts and catches fire! I have a Microsoft Surface 4 to repair.** A: I'm answering my own question. This is NOT big enough for a Microsoft Surface 4. The maximum pad area is 180mm long. A Surface 4 is 192mm long. That's a half inch longer. Simply put, one of the edges of the Surface 4 screen will NOT get heated since the bezel is only about 1mm wide and the glue area is just inside that. Looks like I'll have to return it and get a bigger one. Then, place the remainder of the phone screen down on the heating pad. It will take several minutes to heat the glue enough for the screen to be detached. This is DIFFICULT if you haven’t done it before. Do yourself a favor by checking a website like iFixit to see what is inside your phone or tablet first. At this point, glue between screen and frame should become softened so the screen may be easily lifted. If still not easy, heat it a couple more minutes. My screen got badly cracked, hence it took me longer time to clean all the pieces of glass and glue, and I reheated the phone when it got cold. After the new screen got replaced, I put it back to the heat plate for two minutes to seal it up.Among all the heat plates I could find, this one beats all the others. First, its price is the lowest. Second, it does meet all the requirements. Its warm up speed is fast, and it keeps the desired temperature accurate. And that is all I need for a heat plate.
