MCTS 70-680 Rapid Review: Configuring Windows 7 1st Edition

Really good to use as a book that you can read anywhere that you have some spare time before the test. You can go through the whole book in 2 days, so it works really well for reading during lunch at work, or any other place you have 15 min. The questions asked are very different than what's included in the 700pg training kit, so it gives you a slightly different set of information to work with. I was reading this book in the waiting area right up until they called me to sit for the exam.

I would recommend this book as a supplement to something more substantial. You cannot pass the exam with this book alone, and the book doesn't claim that you can, but what it does do is condense a lot of the key information about the various topics into little bite sized pieces. One of the tricky things about the W7 exam in my opinion is that the range of topics covered is very large, so get a big extensive book for most of your studying and use the rapid review to flick through while watching tv or on your lunch break or whatever. I bought the book as soon as it came out, and found the material to be very useful. The layout of each section gives the reader a firm understanding of not just fundamental concepts, but also useful information about detailed scenarios. The structure is composed in such a way, that the sections aren't overwhelming, in a time when testing anxiety can be present. This read will give you the confidence you need to have success.To make a long story short... I passed the first time I took the test and this was my first MS certification. Thanks Orin!

Great little book. Easy to carry and throw in your bag or backpack. Contains a lot of useful information and perfect for that person that doesn't like large books to thumb through. The true and false questions are great to beter help you understand.

This is what it says it is a last minute cram book. I got through it in a day, its a good supplement.It is very important to remember this should not be your sole source for studying these exams are difficult for a good reason.

This test has gotten harder to study for lately as most of the books out are outdated and don't cover the newer concepts like powershell enough. This book is not in depth enough to be your only resource however. My advice, use the other books for your base knowledge and finish with this book for polish last. Also do not under estimate this test, it is hard, even for someone who has been in this field for years.

Nice little reference guide. This is not something that you will use as your only study guide. but it is a pretty handy resource.

This book provided a simplistic overview of exam objectives. It did not provide in depth detail on procedure for the more technical aspects of the exam but seemed to focus more on the simplistic procedures. The book also appeared to completely miss topics on the exam.

For anyone doing computing coursethis is a very handy and light to carry around book. Great to refresh your brain, just before your exam. Has all the information you need. Has helped me pass.
