HDL and Total Cholesterol Home Testing Kit

I reviewed the process several times before opening the packages. Easy enough to do, just pay attention to the directions. I will be having a company sponsored test done soon, and this was a "warm-up" to prepare for those results without too many suprises.

I carefully followed the directions for the Total Cholesterol test and everything happened as described in the directions. I do not know if the result was accurate; however, it worked as expected. I then did the same for the HDL test; however, this test must have been defective as neither of the two indicator circles or the measured strip ever showed any color. Yes, I pulled the tab all the way out and could see the full arrow exactly as on the total cholesterol test. I then called the support number listed for any problems. I was directed to voicemail during their stated business hours and left a message. I have yet to receive a call back, and do not expect one. I gave it two stars because the one test did work as expected.

Works Perfectly!!! Very easy to use. I followed the directions carefully, and the results were consistent with labs. I have used CholesTrak for years and find it to be very reliable. I love this kit. I don't understand why others have problems unless perhaps they received defective or expired kits. I imagine that could happen. As to the person who didn't know where to tap, they want you to pick the unit up entirely and lightly tap the whole unit down flat against the table three times. Hope this helps. If used correctly, this kit is very reliable. You will not regret the purchase. I'm going to get another one now. So much easier and less stressful than going to the doctor. Great for monitoring between doctor checkups.

I used this the day of a cholesterol test just to see a sneak peek at my levels.The total cholesterol number was very accurate, almost exact lab versus home test. I was very pleased with that.The HDL number on the home test was slightly lower than my higher lab value- it was about 20 points off, which worked in my favor, but non the less inaccurate. I found it a little confusing to use, but it did work to some degree just not sure if accuracy is in "home" test procedure-if I failed (human error) or if it was a test error since one test worked with the results but the other didn't.

I just bought this at Walgreens, followed the directions carefully. I test my blood glucose daily but wanted to try this home test for cholesterol.NOTHING happened. NOTHING. The OK indicator never changed colors. The measuring scale never changed colors.I haven't tried the HDL test. What's the point?The directions were clear and I didn't have a problem with any of them, except, I wondered about the TAP 3 times. . . Didn't say where to tap, on side or top or what. At any rate, this was a waste of money dud for me.

I purchased this home test and the HDL test did not work, just as someone else had stated. I followed directions carefully and a blue line never appeared. I took the Total Cholesterol test and that worked but only to discover that my kit did not have a Total Cholesterol Conversion Chart inside, only 2 HDL charts. Never again will I buy such a piece of garbage. Their instructions say the customer service help line opens at 8am so I called to speak with a representative who could provide me with conversion only to get an answering machine. This company and this product are a complete sham. Don't waste your time or money!
