PSP3000 Housing Shell Case with Button Set for SONY PSP 3000“blue”

I got a Hannah Montana PSP for free. I have 3 little boys. It took me about an hour to switch everything out and it still works perfectly.

So after about 2 hours of disassembling my PSP 3000 using their guide which was actually a PSP 2000 I thought that this will be awesome since the case is my favorite color and it wasn't all scratched up like its old one. WRONG!! Once you get everything into its slots and try to close the case you realize that it is impossible because the case does not fit all the way together. The place where your game goes does not shut all the way, the joy stick does not stick up far enough to be used, and most importantly the power button will not work. If there was a option for 0 stars I would have put that instead of 1.

First of all, this plate kit is a very cool metallic blue. Way nicer than the default black of the psp 3000. So, that would've given this item a 4/5 right off the bat. However, there was a little slip of paper in the box that this plate kit came in that refers you to a website where you are supposed to find a detailed installation guide. The site does NOT have a guide for the psp 3000, so I had to use the psp 2000 guide. Turns out that the psp 3000 and 2000 are slightly different on the inside. Different enough that part way through the guide, I became confused. So that made the rating drop to a 3/5, not to mention what ended up happening to my psp.If I had managed to get this plate kit on, my psp would have been beautiful! Since I had to partially wing the installation by using the psp 2000 installation guide, my poow wittle psp didnt survive the installation. :'(So now, I must buy a whole new psp. I don't really blame the seller or anything though, since I decided to take the risk, but perhaps if I had a proper, easy to read step-by-step guide, I would be enjoying a blue psp tonight.So, for any future buyers, be forwarned:You need good geek skills for messing around with tiny ribbon cables and delicate electrical components. You also need a steady hand and lots of patience. Overall though, YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE FRICK YOU ARE DOING!!!!!!!!! (or else you will need to get a new psp)

This casing looks cool, but I never took into account when I bought it, how very -complicated- it would be to install on my husband's PSP. Not going to lie, I thought it was a simple matter of unscrewing the old case, snapping on the buttons and new case, and tightnening the screws back on. Uh not really. I have no clue how in the world you put this thing together--I'm rather intimidated by it and afraid of messing with anything. Its been sitting on a shelf unused for the past several months. I don't know if there are people out there who can set these cases up for a price, but if you're going to buy one you better be prepared for the work it will take to set it up. Its not a simple matter of snapping on a new cover, thats for sure. But I mean, I'm sure it would look cool once you do manage to put it all on. It looks really nice and all. Good luck setting it up though.

bad. my psp model is 3000 so i bought this. in my case, it's defective product. a screw hole is not fit on a screw and shell cover is slightly small than original PSP 3000 shell cover so i can't assemble it. well, maybe it would be just a bad case but mind yourself
