Woody Allen Four Movie Comedy Collection (Anything Else / The Curse Of The Jade Scorpion / Hollywood Ending / Small Time Crooks) [DVD]

I had never even heard of Made of Honor before this movie; probably because it is the better version of My Best Friend's Wedding with less memorable quotes or scenes. It was by far the best movie in this 4-pack! JLO's performance in Maid of Manhattan is wonderful and brings her character depth and understanding. Who doesn't want to be someone else once in a while? I am happy that I saw My Best Friend's Wedding because of the quotes and scenes, but I felt that it was the weakest of the four movies. The Wedding Planner was exquisite. The reason I will forever only eat brown M&M's.

Enjoyable movies to watch at a reasonable price

Nice package of older "chick flicks" for a really reasonable price - essentially $3.00 a flick. I've been recovering from an injury and need things to watch while putting in my time on the indoor cycle. My Best Friends Wedding is a RomCom classic - Rupert Everett's breakout, and arguably best, role. I saw it on the opening weekend years ago - nice to have it on DVD.I've only seen Made of Honor in bits-and-pieces on television and thought it not bad - predictable ending, of course, but well paced, clever and funny. A good cast, many of which have gone on to some success in film or on TV. Great chemistry between the leads.I was surprised by Maid in Manhattan: again extremely formulaic, but nice production values and pretty well-paced. Ralph Fiennes is an amazing actor, but fourteen years ago, he really could pull off the leading man roll. I'm not generally a Jennifer Lopez fan, but she hung in there with Fiennes and their chemistry really worked here. Definitely worth the watch.I've seen the Wedding Planner on television and have never liked it much - for me, this was the throw-away of the bunch. But overall, this collection is worth the price of admission.

Though I was raised with six brothers, I am a bit of a tomboy and I can only stomach these movies one at a time with the long space in between... They are well done and very entertaining but back to back. I would need a bucket...

Bought from US but arrived quickly in excellent condition. These are 4 of Woody Allen's lesser films from the early 2000s, but still very enjoyable for any Woody Allen fan. All 4 DVDs have English subtitles which is not always the case with Allen films, and some are very hard to find elsewhere, especially Hollywood Ending, so I'm I'm really pleased to have got these used at a very cheap price. I wouldn't pay full current asking price for a new copy however rare. BTW make sure you have a multi region DVD player if buying this Region 1 set.

These are not the great 70's / 80's Woody Allen classics but rather pale imitations. Worth a look but Woody is badly showing his age and needs to develope a new charector. It's a bit like an old Harpo Marx chasing the young girls and larking about, it just looks tired. Good jokes but a 60 years old man playing a 30 year old does not entirely work.
