Loricron Mechanical Eight Day Weight Driven Wall Clock with Antiqued Brass Dial in Wrought Iron

I purchased this for my mother and she absolutely loves it. When she recieved it she said it only required a minor adjustment to the calibration but other than that it was great. Its made of quality material and will last her for years.

I want to give this clock 5 stars because I really do like it but it has some drawbacks. First of all, it is difficult to read as others have said. I was aware this might be a problem but ordered anyway and did my own adjustments: First off, I painted the hands with an off-white fluorescent paint, then I cut a circle of construction paper (I chose black) and cut a slit in order to slide it behind the hands, around the spindle. This hides all that busy-ness going on behind the hands and makes them show up much better. The clock is still hard to read after dark when all the light is at the opposite end of the room and we're looking toward the darker end at the clock. Need a light over there to slightly highlight it. I've pretty well adjusted it to keep time with my other wind-ups. I keep the weight pulled up about every other day just because it's in a location where we tend to bump it if it gets down too far. I love wind-up clocks so this one rates pretty good. If it weren't "made in China", if the pendulum was more well made, if the hands showed up better, I'd love it 5 stars worth!

This little gem belongs in your home if you don't have a mechanical clock already. The simple design, the bell on the hour and gear mechanism are what your home needs to come to life.

I rated four stars, because although it is fun and accurate, the mechanism doesn't seem to warrant the price. The "eight day" bit really only relates to the chain length which is six feet! To mount it at eye level, you won't get more than five feet, or "six days". Anyway, if a couple hundred bucks isn't much, the clock is par excelence at converting potential energy to kinetic at a very steady pace. "The wife" even likes it!

I received this clock as a Christmas present 3 years ago and love love love it. I didn't give it 5 stars because I haven't been able to calibrate it quite well enough to keep perfect time (you screw the pendulum up or down). However I have plenty of digital time-keepers that I rely on for accuracy--this is simply a beauty and gives me pleasure every day.
