People Care: Perspectives & Practices for Professional Caregivers (3rd Edition)

If I had this book when I was a brand new paramedic how different would I have been when starting out. This book centers on people care and not paramedic care. How to focus on treating the person rather than patient. It puts a whole new spin on things and should be required reading for every single new paramedic and EMT student in school. There should also be a test on the book to prove that the new medic/emt has read the book.

This was a great reality check for veteran providers. Would be a good read for rookies and those that need support in doing the right thing for people. Burnout is very real, so this is a good reminder to just take a second and realize that it's okay to care, even if the "cool kids" are being rude and disrespectful.

I have always provided the folks in my EMS agency a copy of this book. It massages the soul!

This is a must read for those in patient care.

Exceptional! This book dives into common issues faced by EMS care providers not regularly or adequately addressed in initial EMS education. In my opinion, this book should be required reading for anyone entering the EMS field. I have been an EMT/Paramedic provider for almost 25 years, and I highly recommend this book to all provider levels.

As many of the other reviewers have said, this should be required reading for any EMT or Paramedic, or really anyone in healthcare. I wish I had read this before I started, but it has great lessons for veterans as well. Definitely worth the read.

This book is so good, it should be included as required reading for every EMT student and reread again and again throughout a career.
