The sheath is a protective covering found on newly emerging bamboo plants. As the plant matures, the sheath falls to the ground and most often is unutilized. Our process collects these sheaths and then they are cleaned, boiled, and pressed into shape. The result is disposable/reusable dinnerware that is elegant, strong and 100-percent biodegradable. Bamboo Studio dinnerware may be reused depending on the care. Always hand wash and do not submerge in water. Use a minimal amount of water when washing and dry immediately. Microwave safe up to 3 minutes on medium heat.

Flimsy paper-plate like party plates. I wouldn't buy these again if they were $2.... don't waste you time or money.

Horrible!
Misleading photos and description-TERRIBLE! Will not ever be purchasing any products from this company again. Extremely disappointing- now we have to find a new gift.

Don't expect to reuse
This is a good product for single time use. Rinsing them and drying immediately can extend them for a couple of uses, but don't expect to do that more than once or twice. They begin to separate into layers after the first rinse and by the second you have strips coming off. I love them as disposables, but they are a little too spendy for that purpose.

These are disposable and I don't recall reading that. Probably my fault, should have known the price was too good.

bamboo plates
These were very small for what I needed. They are light weight and were sturdy until the dogs decided to eat them.

not ANYTHING like the picture!
I wish I could post pics of what these really look like. First, the bottoms are nasty looking. Yes, it's natural and all, but I would NOT want to eat off this. Second, there is a weird 'bump" is the middle... think of those foam meat trays you get from the grocery store and that's pretty close to what these are like. The layers are peeling apart. They bend about as much as a heavy duty paper plate. Actually, I think a paper plate would be sturdier, These are going back.
