Great tool for beginners to learn golf and improve
So preface, at 29 years of age I decided to pick up golf. I've always been a solid benchwarmer athlete and thought picking up golf would be easy. While still a very high handicap (emphasis on very), this book has given me countless drills to help workout my game. I picked up a 3x9 putting mat and a indoor swing matt to work on my game for 20-30 minutues a couple times during the weekday. I've noticed incredible improvements in my game, and this book has given me renewed confidence in getting better at golf, and hopefully one day to beat my buddies. My friends who golfed in college can tell my skills (or lack thereof) are getting a lot better. It won't happen overnight, but use this book and some practice hours and you'llbe on your way to where you want to go.If you are new to golf, I would highly recommend this book. I hope it gives you added confidence and joy in the process of learning how to golf.

Comprehensive, useful,
Many golfers prefer to work through a few tips or drills rather than take a lesson or two from a pro because lessons can be more time-consuming and expensive. However, others prefer lessons to drills and tips. In short, this is an issue of personal preference. As a psychologist and mid-handicap golfer I find that a mix of tips/drills and lessons is the best fit for me. At any one point in time I do not relate to all 120 drills in this book, but many of them seem to resonate with my current stage of experience and training and these are the drills that I add to my repertory. My skills and needs vary from week to week or month to month, so it is very convenient to have this comprehensive set of drills to refer to whenever one or another of my skills needs improvement.

Drill work can be boring, but not if you know you're really FIXING something. Valuable book to have in your golf collection.
Solid, organized read. You can find what ails in here and McLean does a good job of describing issue/cause/effect/fix for a variety of swing maladies thru use of the correct drills. Also a nice, professional touch that McLean credits the many outstanding golf pros who presented these drills to him, for his use w/ his students. For example, when Jim presents a drill he got from Jimmy Ballard, I pay extra attention, b/c I know that is going to be a drill that addresses true fundamentals of the swing.

Great book and a must for every golf library.
Fix those problems that occasionally creep into your game or just understand your swing better. Jim explains in detail the swing, problems you may have and how to adjust.

Book has a bunch of great drills. I don't particularly care for the way it is organized. Should be organized by swing fault, or type, or something - but it is not. Just all lumped together.

Some decent drills. But mostly not great to be honest. Jim Maclean isn't the most inspiring coach IMHO all the x factor stuff is nonsense.
