Josh's Frogs Isopod Substrate (4 qt)

One of the best substrate Ive used for my Ispods. Have 2 different colonies using it and they are doing great. My friend using it as well and her Ispod are doing great.

Works very well for bio active terrariums and will provide spring tails and isopods a healthy habits while also holding moisture for your reptiles.

The millipedes are very happy in this substrate. They started burrowing almost immediately once put into the new substrate and I've barely seen them since. They are happy and content. That makes this a great value for the money!

Edit: so a few months in and it’s still working out great. I transfers our isopods into a larger container and they’ve actually had babies. My daughter and I created an isopod terrarium and this substrate works perfectly. Our little bug friends are happy and healthy thanks to this. I’ve ordered from this company before for my reptile, and was excited to see they sold this. I was worried about using the right kind of soil for our little bugs. This was just what we needed.

Great quality but too expensive for shreds of wood.

I soaked this in distilled water before adding to a dart frog terrarium. I have had zero mold, pathogen, or pest issues for over a month of use. I do change the top layer of oak leaves every two weeks. The isopods and springtails move freely about it and the substrate “breathes” rather than becoming waterlogged or too dry. Would definitely buy again.

Good dirt 👍 my ducky isopods love to get down and dirty in this amazing dirt.

beware! inconsistent product! this is the second time i've bought isopod substrate from josh's frogs. first order was fine, the substrate works well for my porcellio isopods. but this time i got a bag of what looks like exclusively mulch. this is not suitable substrate! i'll have to mix it with soil.
