Works but the iron or whatever it is is very weak. Can only pick up smaller logs, and must be very careful about turning stuff with them. Luckily they bend back into place very easily as well. Not for main use but a good supplement for your fire tools.

I recently bought a fire pit and quickly found out I needed something to manipulate the firewood. Tongs are a great choice because you can pick up the wood and move it anywhere you like. I would give this tool 5 stars except for a couple of problems. The tong could be a little more sturdy as it tends to bend a little too easily and my main concern is that the rivets holding the two pieces together rusted immediately. I will administer a little WD40 for the rust and asside from that they work great. Keep in mind its important to be able to pick up the wood as opposed to pushing it around. These tongs work great and can pick up even large logs. I'm glad I bougt this tool.

These tongs were bought to use with a firepit. The wood won't be real large and heavy so these will work ok. If they were used in a natural fireplace I would question their strength and if the heat would transfer up to the handles quickly. They also require two hands to work them, something you cannot handle with one hand. Upset with Amazon as the price on the invoice is much cheaper than what I paid and the invoice looks like a return label but they won't do anything about it. Rep very unhelpful.

Cheap but does the job.. the don't get very hot when messing around in the fire pit. we have had them for a full camping season and they are still holding up. you can't move bigger logs around as they are not super duty or made for it. you get what you pay for

The tong part that grab the wood bend very easily. Ok for moving around burning wood but not useful for putting heavier pieces on the fire.

It bent when turning a long in a campfire. Need a heavier one.

The metal it is made of is a little weak.

No one would ever accuse these tongs of being overbuilt, but for the price and the way I use them (adjusting small logs in a small condo fireplace) they are perfect. Definitely not the tongs for your big campfire logs, but a great value for residential use.
